3 months have passed since the defeat of Cell, and the death of the Earth's greatest hero; Goku. The Z-Fighters have returned to their peaceful lives, and Trunks has prepared himself for his return to the future. But a hijacking during the young warrior's travel through time and space becomes a fusion between a new, dark villain, and the virtuous Z-Fighter. Shadow Trunks is born. As he returns to the timeline where Gohan has defeated Cell, the Z-Fighters are left defenceless against the might of this new villain. Can the remaining Z-Fighters find a way to stop this malevolent being without harming their friend, or will Trunks become yet another sacrifice in order to keep the Earth safe?
Authors note: This takes place in a kind of alternate timeline I guess, but at the same time it's based on the main timeline.
