Our eighth year and final year in the academy was one to be remembered. We had started going for fittings for our Golden Armour, we were the only Greys to know straight away we were to be Golden Knights, for that we were scorned, although few challenged it. One group that did think to challenge it was the Unit that had been surprised to know they had missed the Golden Mark. Micheal Fitzgerald approached our Unit followed by his two team mates, although they were more body guards and poorly chosen as Kales training had aided us in such a way that we could take on the two giants, Micheal had them follow him like mindless animals, this was the reason they had lost out on been Golden Knights and the victory Sarah had wanted so badly. In the second year when we had competed in the Arena, we despite our setback had completed the course with all our soldiers, Micheals attempt to show himself off and the tactical ability which was completely void in the two bruisers that were in his Unit. He had told them to protect him at all costs and when they had charged a Scorpianitan, thinking they could take it with bare strength had been disappointed when before even reaching the beast had fallen over with their armours locked. Micheal panicked by the development had led his soldiers to half way in the course and had been swiftly over-run by the Red infantry, had the two team mates of his not tried to attack a hologram with brute force they might have actually matched us, but because they didn’t realise that the Scorpianitan relied on speed and strategy, which it used to come up behind them and execute them.

From then on Micheal had treated the two as slaves and muscle men, using them to protect him from bullies and using them to extort the other Greys. It was hard to believe that he was Sarahs brother. But it was undeniable when they stood next to each other. He was taller than his sister, but shorter than both Kale and I, he had the slim physic that characterised the Fitzgerald family, he had a lean muscle though, venomous green eyes and long black hair that almost made him appear like a snake, which many didn’t doubt, he was known for killing Greys in duels with HOMS which weren’t even meant to have that power, but he had power that no one could figure out, only Sarah and I even dared to think that we could withstand a duel against him in a HOM battle and was deadly in the stealth course and with a pistol, he still stood above me in Marksmanship. He was not a man to mess with when we had matured as young adults. He approached us one day during one of Kales rigorous training sessions, Sarah been his girlfriend did little to alleviate the pressure he put on the Unit, and when it did it wasn’t to relieve my pain. Micheal cleared his throats, but we continued, we had elected Sarah as our captain and spokesperson as she was the best tactician and in recent years had made many question as to whether there was any competition between the Fitzgerald siblings at all.

He cleared his throat again, his eyes fixing on his sister who had taken to wearing training tights which he disapproved of entirely on his sister but enjoyed greatly on the other female Greys. Sarah looked up at him, she wiped the sweat from her brow, the Black Mark Unit had elected to wear similar training gear, barring the tight pants Sarah had chosen for herself, Kale and I wore our black training vests with the Black Mark badge emblazoned on it, we had simply altered the original badge for Sparrow Eye, which Sarah had made to literally be a Sparrows Eye, but changed the pupil to be a swirling Black pit, marking the transformation. Sarah also wore the vest, which her brother once again disapproved of.

“Brother, may I ask as to the pleasure of your visit, it must be very important seeing as you’ve neglected to visit me in a long time.” She said sarcastically giving him a mock pout. Kale and I both knew she didn’t care, but relished in his misery that she had the better Unit and the fact that he disapproved of her boyfriend.

“Surely not to wish your best to my loving boyfriend and I?” she leaned on Kale and he put his arms over her. We could all see Micheal’s hidden contempt.
