(A/N: When it's in normal italics it's Victoria's thoughts! That's Victoria's wolf-form by the way.)
Rhydian and I met up in the Vaughans' kitchen. After finding out that there are others like us that transform into wolves and have wolf-like powers, we really wanted to go to school, not! Well Rhydian didn't, I did. We looked at each other and, as if we'd told each other telepathically, started making breakfast together. We just sat at the table, ate and stared at each other. Neither knew what to say. How do you start off a conversation after you've just found out that everything you thought made you weird was really normal and there others like that? We just got up, grabbed their bags and walked out the door. I decided to break the silence.
"We're Wolfbloods. Maddy's like us and so are her parents. We have wolfy powers. We might be able to learn to control our 'inner wolves' and transform whenever we want. Have I missed anything?"
"Nope, that's everything. But of course, being the nerd you are, you probably knew you were correct anyway."
"How many times! I'm not a nerd!"
"Yes, you are!"
"No, I'm not!" We continued like that until we reached school at which point Rhydian had given up as I was always going to deny it. All feelings of tension had left and we just laughed together. Then Shannon came running across the playground, not noticing we were there.
"Should we follow her?" I asked, assuming that it might be a good idea. I looked to my side but Rhydian was gone. I looked ahead again saw that he had already begun following Shannon anyway. Shannon ran into the darkroom which was when we gave up. We couldn't go in as she would see us and there weren't any windows to look through. I tried to hear what she was doing in there but could only hear the keyboard clicking.
"Can't hear anything! Well, apart from the keyboard." I told him. Rhydian nodded and we both headed to their lockers to put our things away. We sat by the wall and talked again before Shannon came and started putting up posters.
"It looks like a wolf! Do you think it could be a wolfblood?" Rhydian asked.
"Probably. We need to get those pictures. She's already printed copies but if we get our hands on the raw files then she can't print them any more." I said, talking more to myself than to him. I took off and ran to the darkroom, my brother following close behind. I grabbed the memory card and handed to Rhydian. "You hide stuff better than me so you should hide it." Rhydian just put in his pocket, clearly not being able to clear less.
(Time-skip brought to you by Shannon's waste of paper with posters!)
The whole class was in Art and a few people were talking about Shannon's posters. She'd stuck them on every window and when told to prove it was real, she brought up the memory card. Of course, she went to get it and it wasn't there so everyone laughed. Rhydian and I sat down at the front, alone. Rhydian was actually doing a good job while my work looked terrible. Rhydian is an artist, I am a reader. Maddy came up to them and sat down. Neither cared but Maddy looked worried. Probably about the memory card.
"I know you both took it." Maddy said, after a few moments of silence.
"Yeah, you can thank us later." Rhydian said, not caring but expecting a 'thank you' for protecting a secret they didn't know had existed until yesterday.
"You both made Shannon look like an idiot!" said Maddy. Is she seriously mad at us for protecting our little secret?
"Tough!" I said, if Maddy is going to get mad over us protecting her then I'm not going to be nice back.
