Before I start today's events, let's talk about last full moon. Believe it or not, Raj and I skipped school because we felt like it. Don't worry, I'm only grounded for school nights. During the time we were away, however, Rhydian started selling stolen goods, got arrested, the Smith's faked being our foster family, Rhydian nearly transformed in a cell and and we all ended up wolves in the woods. That was an interesting meet-the-parents session. Good news: His mum approves!
Now, we were all in Bernie's since the wild wolfbloods - we still don't know who they are but there were two scents this time - were spying on us.
"Don't you have a big game on Friday?" Maddy asked and Tom looked at her
"Only the County Cup Final." I muttered before sipping my hot chocolate.
"And we're playing Baron's Mill - the team we always lose too." Tom said as Rhydian sat down.
"Your leg won't change anything, then." He said and Tom glared at him.
"Thanks, mate." He said and I gasped. "What?"
"I just realised, if you're injured then I might get a shot. They've rejected me 5 times, they might as well let me try again." I said as Raj sat down next to me.
"Why'd they reject you 5 times?" He asked.
"It's a boys' team." I said bluntly and everyone stopped their conversations for a few seconds.
"I just want to know who the creep in the bushes was." Shannon said.
"Probably just a dog-walker." Maddy lied and Tom shook his head.
"I didn't see a dog." Tom said before Bernie joined the conversation.
"Ah, you've seen them too, have you?"Bernie asked.
"Them?" Tom asked in reply.
"The homeless women who've been sleeping rough. They've been seen around the village these last few nights."
"These women, does one of them have brown hair? Green eyes?" I asked and he nodded.
"She does, yeah. Looks like you, in fact." Bernie said and Tom looked at me.
"You don't think she's your...?" He said and shook my head.
"She can't be. My mother is in Wales." I said, half-believing it.
(Time-skip because I'm lazy.)
I was standing by the side of the football pitch, watching the boys practice. I say practice, really it was Liam proving that he cannot be in goal. After while, I gave up. No-one was gonna actually play properly with him in goal so I took him out.
I walked up, pushed him out of goal and gestured for the boys to shoot the balls at the goal. I don't usually play in goal but I was clearly better than Liam since I stopped most of them before they actually played a game. Tom took a shot and the ball headed for the window.
"Rhydian!" I yelled as he walked past. Rhydian lept for it and just saved it from hitting the window. We all gaped at him in silence before Jimi spoke.
"Sam." He said and Sam walked to him.
"Yeah?" Sam asked and Jimi kept his eyes on Rhydian
"Go and get Miss Graham." Jimi told him and Sam ran off to fetch her.
I slowly walked away from the goal and grabbed my bag that I'd dumped on the side. Miss Graham came and took Rhydian to the field. I watched everyone follow him before following suit. By the time I'd got there, all the boys were in a straight line with Rhydian in goal. Miss Graham saw me and sighed.
