(Notes at the end)

There she was again. Another sigh. Another moon only slightly different than the night before that. Rainbow counted every sticker star that pinkie stuck on her ceiling for the thousandth time that night, it wasn't that she didn't appreciate the effort. It was more of, "I'm getting tired of counting the same damn thing, can I please have something new" kind of thing. She laid in every position she could think o: her side, back, other side, upside down, back against the wall, her stomach, and oddly enough her head. She could hear the faint sounds of her music playing in the background of the thunderstorm raging outside. Normally she'd be out like a light, but this time, it was a no go. She'd been sick all week in bed with nothing to do besides play her games on her laptop, watch her favorite gamers online, play with Tank, and read all her 'Daring Do' books over and over and over and over again. She was beyond bored. Music wasn't helping, the sound of rain hitting her window didn't help either. Sure AJ was on the phone with her but there wasn't any sound. Now that she thought about it, that's probably why she couldn't sleep. She was so used to hearing Applejack's snoring at night that it became somewhat of a lullaby to her. Her heart sank a little as she cuddled her stuffed wolf close to her chest, the one AJ had won for her at the carnival. She smiled at the memory, it was last weekend when Applejack came to pick her up and they spent the day at the nearby town's carnival. The lights, the music, the food, everything was beyond perfect for a day to themselves. Rainbow could feel her eyelids become heavier but with her thoughts racing, she couldn't find away to fall asleep. She sighed rolling over again on her side this time. Her eyes glued to the raindrops hitting her window. She really wanted to sleep. Why was this so hard? Just shut your eyes and doze off right? As if she hadn't tried that before. She sighed heavily before pulling her phone directly under her ear in hopes of catching the small sound on AJ's end. She briefly wondered, "why she muted her end?" Did she feel like she was going to bother her? She didn't know but the thought alone made her heart sink into her stomach. She shook her head.

'No. Not to tonight. I'm not getting depressed tonight. No negative thoughts.'

Rainbow could feel the voices in her head begin to conspire against everything she just said. Groaning, she hit her head against her pillow trying desperately to get the voices to go away.

'Damnit! Will you guys shut the fuck up? I'm trying to sleep...'

'You're not doing a very good job at it'

'You're trying to sleep? I thought you were listening to head bangers again'

Rainbow grunted trying her best not to shoot herself in the head, not that she could though. AJ took her gun and stabbing herself through her head seemed like too much work. She groaned desperately wanting to fall asleep. 2 hours later at 3 in the morning, Rainbow still couldn't sleep. Sure the voices kept mumbling but at that point, she didn't care. She just wanted to sleep. Getting up was a big, 'nope!'. The movement caused her cramps to go crazy and she refused to go through those again.

'This is a pile of shit blended with dirt...'

It seemed as if that thought alone made the voices in her head shut up. She smirked trying her best not to laugh. Of course saying something weird that didn't make sense made the voice shut up. One side quest down, now time for the main task at hand, getting SOME sleep. Sighing, she briefly wondered if Applejack was ok, along with her sister, Sunset, she hasn't talked to her much since her and Twilight were married. Who knew a Centaur and a witch would make a great pair? She smiled remembering the wedding. The lights, the music, and man was the food awesome! All of her favorites in one place! She suspected it was Sunset's doing but to her surprise, Twilight was the one to create all of her favorites so Rainbow would eat. Her stomach suddenly growled. She deadpanned and rolled on her stomach to silence the false hunger.

'I'll eat once I sleep so stop complaining...'

That seemed to shut her stomach up. Now, back to remembering the wedding. Being that Rainbow and Sunset's parents are racist towards hybrids, Sunset had the father-daughter dance with her since their parents weren't invited. Racist towards hybrids AND homophobic? Geez those two need to get their lives together. She actually almost forgot that their parents tried to crash the wedding but imagine walking in a room where everyone looked human, until they took off their amulets and shifted to magical or deadly creatures that wanted to kill you. Yeah pretty scary. It was pretty funny too. The best part was how Rainbow earned so much respect with the Orcs and Werewolves that day. She smiled remembering the head pats she received from the other Orcs, of course she was able to experience her first dog pile much to Applejack's dismay.

'I wonder how those guys are doing....I'll contact them tomorrow'

Rainbow made a mental note to contact the Orc tribe and Werewolf clan later in the week when she felt better. Maybe AJ could go with her, that'd be fun. She smiled her thoughts drifting to the first time she met AJ's fairy family. It was absolute complete hell. She was so scared she'd step on one of them, well until she did and discovered that the fairies can grow to the size of dark elves. Man are they pretty. Although, one tried to seduce her and lure her away from AJ's side. She chuckled remembering how pissed AJ got. She was so pissed that she literally ripped off her amulet, grab the girl and flung her to... huh....did they ever find her? Probably not, AJ throws hard and know how to aim. But, man was that a turn on. It took about 6 fairies to keep her from going after the fairy girl. She remembered one fairy asked her, 'why didn't to try to stop her? She could've killed her!'. To which she replied with a stupid grin on her face, 'why would I stop my girlfriend from protecting her mutt?' The fairy only looked at her confused, then it wasn't long before her and the fairy guy got into an argument about her taking off her amulet so he'd be able to see what made her so special. Let's just say, Applejack wasn't too pleased about that. The way AJ practically rammed the guy into a nearby tree, sent a pleasurable chill down her spine.

'Maybe we should go to her Cyclops family next, she did say she has a big brother their'

Rainbow yawned seeing the sun begin the come up. Damnit, not an ounce of sleep. She shrugged finally feeling her eyes begin to drift closed, seemed that thinking about good things for once did the trick. She pulled the covers up over her shoulder turning into a blanket burrito.

'AJ's coming over later....I should just sleep till noon...'

She set her alarm.

She set her alarm right?

She could've sworn she set her alarm!
