Chapter 3

Ohh awesome guys 200+ reads on this so far...I take it you like it then :) Also sorry that I didn't post when I said I would I've been busy with work and stuff since I came from my holiday! Anyways back to the story ...

(Before the heatwave as I'm calling it  hits Bondi)

Deano's POV- Currently 7:00AM.

This morning I've been put on tower duty and Kerbox has been nagging Harries about how he gets all the great rescues and whatnot, I haven't listened a lot to their conversation as I've been in the medical area checking our stock for the day making sure it's all full and there.

As I'm putting the writing board back after using it back on the shelf I hear;

"Hey Harries I bet you $10 that you won't talk to at least 1 pretty girl today, that's a challenge being as your the how should I put this the 'babe magnet'." Kerbox tells Harries.

He laughs a little "oh come on boxy mate not my fault I look so amazing is it?"

I shake my head heading back to my seat near the windows and getting my radio and check it.

"What you think Deano?"

"Huh? No way Box, I'm not getting involved in this bet you know I'll lose." I say shamefully.

Kerbox and Harries laugh at my expense, sighing I keep checking the radio but then change the battery in it.

After I have made sure that the battery is a fully charged one in it I pick up my binoculars as there are already some people on the beach. How people can be on the beach already is beyond me but saying that I opened the tower and set the beach up with Harries and Box at 6:00.
Man I wish I could sleep. I'm so tired and we haven't been here more than an hour.
Shaking my thoughts and take a quick but careful scan of the sea from North to South. I hear the door open and a couple 'hellos' and 'Heys' from Box and Harries to who I'm guessing is Boss man Hoppo, he always turns up at this time or around this time.

Putting the binoculars down after my scan of the water, I turn my chair to face the middle of the tower and see it was Hoppo who entered.

"Ah, morning Hop!" I say way overdone.

He gives a chuckle at my greeting. "Alright Deano."

I nod my head and stand so I can stretch my legs, yeah had a few issues with them the past couple days but not said anything to anyone. Oops 🙊

"Yeah I'm good boss. How's the weather going to be later?"

"Well, it's going to be a scorcher of a day, so you guys make sure you drink plenty of water or whatever you guys drink, be on the lookout for possible signs of heatstroke."

We all nod at him. "Sure thing Hop!" We creepily say at the same time weird I know.

"I'm going to do a caracell (dunno how to spell the stupid word) style today so you all have a chance to be in the tower. Okay so I'll have Jessie and H down South end. Deano and Maxi you guys start at the middle set of flags. Bacon (Adrian) and Harries you guys start in here. Hm, Yak you go on quad and roam in case we need you. Reidy and Whippet you guys start at North end. Kerbox you go on the Ski. Okay have a good shift and rotate every 2 hours."

We nod and head to our posts me and Maxi head to one of the Rhinos and we head to the Middle flags, Maxi driving as he's still a young one and I don't mind not driving but I would if it's an emergency. We soon arrive at our post and watch the water.

Sorry it's kinda lame... I wanted something so I could post for you guys... don't worry I'll change POVs to Harries in the next chapter. :)
