Season 1, Episode 4 - Mix And Match

[A/N: There's no video for this ep. Sad news after such a long hiatus, I know. I'll explain myself at the bottom so those who don't want to be bothered by Author's Notes won't have to hear my life story. Ahaha.

Matchmaker K - S01E04 [Mix And Match]

"Ladies and gentlemen, f(x) and EXO are here today for a matchmaking session with 'Matchmaker K'!" The MC started the show in a split second, and as always ignited the ear-deafening cries of the fans. "Here are your idols!"

"Hello, I'm f(x)'s Amber." Amber bowed and did the usual introductions but there was no Sulli to follow right after her.

"We are one! Hello, we're EXO!" The EXO members, who followed Amber onto the stage, carried out their introductions in a similar manner. 

"Where's Sulli?" The MC went straight to the point and the nervousness of the audience was clearly audible for the bad news.

"She has something to attend to so she couldn't make it this week." Chanyeol took the baton to step up and explain. You could almost sense the relief of the others on stage when they realized they were not responsible for breaking out the news.

"She left me all by myself." Amber pouted, jokingly, trying to lighten up the atmosphere.

"Aigoo, poor you." The MC supported her and cracked a joke. "So why are Chanyeol and Lay here then? Since Sulli isn't here, you two will end up being paired up."

The tense atmosphere was broken with the eruption of laughter from both the audience and the idols. 

"Ah, really?" Chanyeol responded looking towards Lay. Lay, who still seemed a little bit confused, smiled in return causing the others to crack up at the exchange between the two after taking into account what the MC said.

"Just kidding!" The MC grinned at the audience. "Since Sulli isn't here, Lay and Chanyeol are here as special MCs!"

The audience did not disappoint with their screams and cheers as Lay and Chanyeol were handed their cue cards.

"Unfortunately, due to Sulli's absence in this episode, there will be no 'Hidden Card' candidate for Sulli." Chanyeol immediately took on his MC role.

"That's great," Lay responded to Chanyeol in his broken Korean accent, trying hard to read what was written on his cue cards as accurately.

"Why would you say that?" Chanyeol gave his signature grin, a gleam of mischief evident in his eyes.

"Why else?" Lay spoke, unable to hide his own dimpled smile. "There is less competition for me!"

"Oh, I see!" Chanyeol nodded in agreement. "That makes perfect sense."

"Anyways, let's move on." The MC cut Chanyeol and Lay accordingly, clearly making sure that the script was followed.

Elsewhere, she smiled, knowing she had made the right choice picking the MC for her show. Although one of her leading actresses were adsent, she was confident the show would take a more exciting turn for the audience from this point onwards.
