Since the Fourth Grade

Chapter 1

It was the first day of school, Moms rushing around the kitchen as usual fixing everyones breakfast. Nathan and Bella have left for school already, they were in High school and Nathan could drive now, they didn't have to witness mom freaking out over under cooked eggs. 

Lucky.

I feel a fist being rubbed against my head and swat at Koby

"Mom!! Koby keeps messing with me" i whine as my mother starts to fry some more eggs.

She turns around so quick and gives him the eye. You know the eye i'm talking about. The one that could commence death upon request. Koby immediately sits down resulting in a smile from me.

I turn over to look at the twins eating the mush that was once cereal as mom shovels some eggs, toast and fruit onto my plate. I shuddered at the thought of soggy cereal.

We finish breakfast as fast as we could and then mom hauled us into her minivan. She was relieved that she could drop us all off at the same school this year, i could see it on her face as she pulled into the lot and sighed. That or we were actually on time. Koby was in sixth grade, i was in fourth grade and the twins were in first. Me and Koby hopped out as mom unbuckled the twins from their booster seats.

"Koby walk your sister to class"

"But mom!-" Koby whined. I get it, Koby's been acting so different lately, i think it's because he's going to sixth grade and he think he has to act cooler.

"Koby, not now i have to get the twins to their class" mom pleaded

"Fine" he was annoyed i could tell.

"You don't have to, i can walk myself" i said in a soft tone. Truth be told i was upset, not really at Koby but at how my mom wouldn't be walking me to class anymore because of the twins. It seemed like that was the new thing in town, forgetting i existed all for the twins sake. Koby must have noticed because he grabbed my hand and we entered the school. After passing exactly 6 different classes Koby stops at one with blue butterflies on the door.

"If anyone messes with you, you tell me" he says in a stern voice. Well as stern as an 11 year old could get. I nod and smile at him as he ruffles my curly hair one last time before he walks down the hall to find his class.

I fix my hair then turn and walk into the class. All the desks had names on it so i went and searched for mine. Along the way i saw some familiar faces and friends i had from last year. After finding my name i sat at the desk that was in a cluster of fours.

The teacher had dark brown skin like my mom, she was wearing a blue dress and glossy lips. She was pretty.

"Hello everybody, My names Mrs.Tavern and i'm going to be your teacher this year. Im so excited to get to know all of your faces!, speaking of let's start by taking roll" she said excitedly.

I sat up at the mention of roll call. I always anticipated this, it may sound weird but because my last name started with an A my name was always first. I always came first, it was my thing here, something my brothers or sisters couldn't take away from me.

"Ok lets start" Mrs. Tavern said.

I put my hand on my desk ready to raise it and beam at my name.

"Theodore Adams"

....

Who!?

I whip my head as someones hand shoots up. It's a boy, a boy that seems familiar. I think and think and it clicks, it's the boy who moved in with his family a street over. I glare at him. In all of my school years(all four of them) no one, and i mean no one has taken this spot. Just as he feels the heat from my glare I turn around.

"Lucca Advani" i slumped and raised my hand not up for the smile i was previously going to give Mrs.Tavern, I turn back around and glare at this Theodore kid. He catches me again and i don't turn away, that's how mad and frustrated i am.

That was the first time i saw Theodore, and that was the beginning of a decade's worth of a blood thirsty fued.

Well as bloody as it could get
