Later that day I decided to re-enact the Batman comic with Delena.
I came out wearing a suit similar to one Bruce Wayne wore.
Delena was busy changing in her bedroom.
When she came back outside I was shocked to see what she wore.
She actually was wearing a Catwoman costume.
"WOW! Where did you get that?"
"It was a birthday present I received."
"That's... incredible!"
She even looks like Eartha Kitt in that costume.
We started to re-enact the comic.
Delena tried to attack me, I stopped her and directed her.
"Good, now try and aim for my chest."
She attempted and I encircled her with my arms.
When she was close to my chest I got a good sniff of her hair.
Ohhhh... It smelt of roses.
Uh oh! I'm sidetracked, I better stop it.
I released her and instructed her what to do next.
"Okay now try and go for a kick to my neck."
She tried to aim for it and I dodged it.
"You've directed a scene like this before haven't you?"
"I sure have."
She actually knew how to do some defense moves.
"I also was pretty strong as a baby too." I burst out laughing.
Afterwards, I took out my flip cell phone and was able to film Delena up-close and far. Delena recited each line with confidence.
Man, this girl was impressive.
The remainder of the day was spent reenacting scenes from the comic. As we reached the final scene my heart was pounding.
It was a scene where Batman revealed who he was to Catwoman. He was supposed to be close enough to kiss her. I walked up to Delena and gazed into her eyes. Completely forgetting my cue.
"Ivan?"
"Yes Delena?"
"Aren't you gonna say what your line is?"
"Oh yeah!"
Good God, help me focus please!
10 minutes later...
As Delena was busy changing out of her costume. I was fantasizing about us portraying Batman and Catwoman; whenever that comic gets adapted I'll do whatever I can to get us the lead roles and direct.
I noticed Mrs. Crane had finally come home from visiting Delena, her sister.
"Hello Ivan, I didn't expect to see you here this late."
"I was getting ready to leave actually."
"Oh don't. Why don't you stay for dinner."
Delena came back outside and hugged her mother. She wore a lovely black housecoat. Man, she sure had style! Oh no, I'm thinking that way again! Quit it, quit it!
"Yes I think I will stay Mrs. Crane."
"Wonderful."
As wonderful as the lovely girl who I met.
At dinner...
"We were re-enacting scenes in one of my Batman comics."
I simply smiled. I could see the look on Delena' face how much she enjoyed our activity. Her parents were truly happy for her and loved her.
When she laughed at a joke her father made I saw how beautiful her smile was.
"Mr. and Mrs. Crane, you really do have a wonderful daughter."
Delena looked at me surprised as I smiled back.
I was falling more in love with her by the minute.
Later that night...
I escorted Delena to her bedroom upstairs.
"Thanks again for dinner."
"Don't mention it. My parents enjoy having company over."
I watched as she went inside, the urge to follow her brewing within me. Instead, I watched her slip into a mauve nightgown and doze off.
Slowly I crept into her room and stood beside her bed.
I caressed the side of her cheek.
Delena slept so soundly and peacefully, just like a princess. She suddenly woke up from my delicate touch.
"Ivan? Did you just touch my face?"
Startled, I quickly tried to make up a lie.
"Yes, I thought I saw something on your face and was brushing it off."
Well that sounded plausible.
"If you insist Ivan."
I think I better tell her my real name.
"My name isn't actually Ivan."
"Really?" She wondered.
"Well, it's actually my middle name. My first name is Boone."
"Boone. I don't think I've ever met Boone before."
"It's not as common as Ivan that's for sure."
I couldn't help but laugh. She was right about that.
"Well, you have a good night Boone."
"Same to you."
Sweet dreams my sleeping princess.
