Dear readers,
Isn't this a really good way to start my review book? Yes it is. And the credit for this idea goes to........
MY MOOD SWINGS (hmm.... Looks like the authornim is on her period)
OKAY jokes apart, but honestly speaking, I'm really exhausted by the hsc board examinations and my exams were disgusting. The papers did not go well at all. It's kinda disappointing for a student who scored 92% in her Icse examinations.
But it's finished now and I can't do anything but chill. So I'm in my complete resting bitcheu mode, and helping myself with these songs. And I'll be writing about the top four songs in dis list.(which is never ending.A/N: Guys these are my honest reviews and opinions about the songs and not any expert reviews. Plus these are the songs which I find relaxing and they calm me down, so I really don't think that should make anyone feel offended.
Back to the point
So the first song izz..(drumrolllllllzzz)
PROMISE (BTS JIMIN)This song is an absolute favorite. Now I really can't call myself an army Cuz I don't know as much as an actual A.R.M.Y does. It's just that I really admire their work, their dedication and their earnest efforts that has brought them to where they are right now. Me also being from a music background and an aspiring singer (and rapper, Cuz I'm also working on my rapping skills), these guys inspire me to work harder and I kinda relate with their songs a lot. So... (don't get emo authornim plzzzz).
OKAY now back to the song. I don't understand the lyrics completely but what I could make out of this song was that he hopes that the fans should be their own light and they should build up the courage to love themselves through storm and gale. They should then take their pinky finger and promise him to love themselves.
Talking about the vocals, Jimin has a very fluid and a super sweet voice and clean highnotes. He expresses the song beautifully using his voice. The soft guitar accompaniment just acts like a good ornament to his voice and accentuates the simplicity of the song and of course, his message . This is one of the few four songs that makes me sleep as well. (Cuz I have a bit of sleeping problems).
You can listen to the song here. It gives off a very beautiful vibe, the vibe of enjoying life to the fullest no matter how difficult it is.Now for the second song (drumrolllllllzzz)
FINALLY FREE (NIALL HORAN)
I have loved this song since the time this came out. A song that I can absolutely relate to. The song details about finding personal freedom and the strength that comes from positive relationships. The song is about how a once forlorn and a wrecked person finds inspiration from the person closest to him and he thanks the person for that.
You could consider this one to be a proper song with prelude, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge and an interlude. The guitar, which is Nialls specialty, weaves magic into the song and gives it a new life.
Niall's voice in this song shows improvement. He really feels the song and lives up to the song's expectations.
This song gives you hope; to live, to fight, to struggle and to succeed. It's the motivation you really need on a bad day.The third song izzzz(drumrolllllllzzz)
STONES (FEAT CHRIS LINTON AND EMMA SAMETH)
This is actually a song about heartbreak and patchup and all that shit, but exclude dem lyrics, the melody is amazing. It is so soothing and Emma's voice nails the song. Heuse is actually a good YouTube channel and it produces some amazingly beautiful songs. Their songs sometimes go unnoticed, though.
So coming back to the point, the music is amazing. The drums, the piano, a simple arrangement for a song right?
But they weave magic into this extremely simple music piece. And so I absolutely love it.The fourth song(drumrolllllllzzz)
LASYA (ANOUSHKA SHANKAR)
She lives overseas, but is continuing to expand the greatness of Indian classical music. She is Anoushka Shankar, the daughter of the legendary sitarist Pt. Ravi Shankar and Norah Jones' half sister.
I genuinely respect this woman.
LASYA is an instrumental piece and is extremely beautiful. Lasya actually means the dance performance by goddess Parvati to calm down lord shiva after his tandava( the dance performance by lord shiva, which is believed to bring destruction on the earth). So it is full of happiness and is bound to give you satisfaction and relaxation. Doubt me? Anoushka's facial expressions while playing tell you how contented she is to even play the magnificently, heavenly beautiful piece, let alone listening to it.
The instruments accompanying the sitar are so awesome, they accentuate the grandeur and glory of Indian folk music, the same way the sitar does for the classical Indian music.
This song calms me greatly when I am contemplating my decisions or have a heated argument. So author approves this song. You can listen to it here:
Fifth songgggg(big drumrolllllllzzz)
LAND OF GOLD(ANOUSHKA SHANKAR AND ALEV LENZ)
This song was written by Anoushka as a blessing from a mother to her child. The thoughts that a mother has while raising her child, the child that she wants him to be, the plight of a mother for raising her child and the fear of him losing his path inspires land of gold.
This song was written keeping in mind the Syrian refugees from the Syria war and the horror those people must have seen happening in front of their eyes.
Anoushka is a sitar genius and has inherited it from her father. It is unbelievable how she can think so deep and voice her thoughts so beautifully. As an Indian, she has set an example for the young musicians and sitarists here in India to follow their culture and be proud of it.
Her voice adds to the relaxing vibe of the song. It actually emphasizes her actual emotions, showing that she connects her heart to art.You can listen to it here :
