BUCKY POV:
The day was going fine, rather quiet, until I hear a quiet engine outside. I sneak over to the window and peer down at the street below. Three men and a woman, wearing all black, get out of a black SUV and head into this apartment building. Are they here about Galina? Is this why she said to not answer the door or phone?
I make sure the door is locked. I look around and see a large bookcase, I push it in front of the door as a barricade, just in case. I then unlock the bedroom window, which has a fire escape outside, and one of the living room windows, which would land me directly in front of their car. I pull on some trainers and a black hoodie, I grab the pistol off the top of the fridge and sit on the back of the couch, waiting. Suddenly the phone rings, I don't answer it and it goes to the answering machine, an old woman speaks in Russian "Galina dear, your friends are here, I'm sending them up. If you're in the shower or something I'm sure they won't mind waiting outside your door."
Are these actually her friends? They didn't look like a friendly group.
I decide to wait, to see if they actually are here peacefully or not, if not I'll leave, but she recommended I stay, so I'll try that first. A minute or so later there's a sound at the door, it isn't knocking or anything, it sounds like metal. Then it hits me, they're picking the lock.
Looks like waiting isn't an option for them, I should go.
I tuck the pistol in my waistband and run into the bedroom, I climb out of the window and head down the fire escape. I walk down the sidewalk in the direction the sun is shining from, I make sure to not act suspicious as I head away from the residential area. I pull my hood up and do my best to avoid all cameras. I find a road and stick to it. I don't know where I'm going or exactly where I am, apart from Russia, of course.
I find myself walking into a town centre, I walk through a park and see a newspaper left on the bench so I walk over and sit beside it. The newspaper tells me where I am and the date, but nothing else is useful. I sit here for a few minutes pretending to read it as I pull together a plan in my head.
Whatever I do, I need to do it now, someone is after my girl and I can't sit around waiting for my friends to help me.
I walk amongst the busy streets and manage to snag someone's purse. I head straight for the train station.
