"You're pregnant, for a white man, I should smack the black off you. Haven't I taught you anything, white people are dangerous, all they do is destructive, now they have destroyed my daughters life."
"Where did I go wrong, I have raised you right, what happened to all the values we raised you with."
When mum got like this you let her go until she gives you a chance to speak,
"And what's this about going to some white infested country?"
Nat and Ange look shaken even I couldn't believe she said that,
"Mom that's a little extreme and racist don't you think, Elijah is a nice guy,he hasn't up and run like father did, he makes my heart skip a beat, he makes my body come alive, he has been there for me through this Matthew thing and he just wants to help, what does it matter if he's white." I defend
"You must have lost your brain cells when you got pregnant, race fucking matters, even a white person who adopts a black and a white child will treat the black one different in how he raises them cause he knows they will face different struggles in the real world mwanake(my child) ." She states with a what almost looks like pity in her eyes,

Is this white man of yours prepared to raise a black child? cause I tell you now Margret you both will have to be prepare that child for the fucked up world we live in, it's even worse since you're planning on going to he's racist ass country where unfortunately you have no choice but to go because there is no way I will condone some half breed fatherless child from my daughter anywhere near my vicinity, what were you even thinking, don't you know that these foreign white men want from us is a taste of something exotic, they never marry people like us, they will confess their undying love and promise you the world with all that is in it but will dump you immediately they get what they want from you. And you decide to not only open your legs for one but get pregnant by him,do you know the disgrace and shame that this will cause you and this family. I will be damned if I let you ruin your life because of some pipe dream of him taking care of you being his one and only. You better get rid of that thing and fast."
Elijah who apparently hadn't gone like he was supposed to heard every single thing and is standing there looking shocked, he clears his throat and glares daggers at my mother.
"Mrs philips I get how you feel but you don't know me, hell you don't know half the things I would do for your daughter, this woman here is it for me, I knew it from the day I saw her and I will do hellish things to anyone who tries to get between us or suggests otherwise. Am crazy for your daughter ma'am and soon enough you'll see that I mean well. But if you ever suggest her putting her life at risk cause of your family's honor I will lose the little respect I have for you for birthing your a woman like Maggie." he says calmly but I can see the fury in his eyes.
"Am going to pack and am leaving with Elijah and Pete, Matthew is out so you must all be careful you know he will go to any extent" I turn to my mother with a glare, "I have always done what you thought was best for me mum but this is the one thing you won't get to control and If you ever say what you did to me right now prepare to lose both your child and grandchild from your life forever."
Even as I say this my heart is pounding a little because I have never ever talked back to my mother without consequences but I have had enough of this.
"I love you ima but I need to leave." with that I run to my bedroom with tears running down my face.
