The Christmas season, a season of bliss and happiness, the air smelt of wine and cake; and I was headed to my hometown after 3 long years for Christmas. Now as I indulged myself in the festivities and the preparations that came along...I was texting her, again mostly casual conversations, I was sending her pictures of my nephews and the dogs, but our casual conversations changed drastically when I replied to a very emotional story she put up once.

I asked her what it was about and she surprisingly told me about her strained 3 year long relationship that ended about a year ago. I was shocked; it was like falling through a time hole, my relationship with my ex, the break up and the trauma that followed, I couldn't help but feel bad that somebody else had been through the same stuff, but I managed to snap back and change topic, it would have become very uncomfortable otherwise.

So this one particular day, I went out to the beach with my family, now since It was the beach and obviously I couldn't carry my phone, I put it in my bag and went to the beach and by the time we got back we were all tired so I didn't text anyone and went off to sleep. The next day, I texted her and she asked me where I was, I told her about the day at the beach and asked her if she missed me, she said yes, she did miss me, I was a little surprised but It felt nice, to know that someone missed you.

I wished her for Christmas and on New Year's she sent me a picture of herself. Now college re-opened on the 2nd so she made her way back to Bangalore, she asked me if I was going to be in college on the 2nd, but I told her that I'm only coming back the next week, she was taken aback a bit, but I told her I'd meet her the day I got back, come what may.....
