IT FELT LIKE IT HAD BEEN AGES
since Nyvia and Shane took off down the road ahead of the group to make sure there were no problems headed their way or blockages that could further stop them from travelling.

"We should probably head back soon." Shane announced after they sat in silence for some time, scanning their surroundings and using the binoculars to see if any threats were to come in the distance.

"I know, it's just — Jim's dying. I really hope this doesn't sound selfish, but, I can't stand seeing another person die right now, Shane. I just can't do it." Nyvia said weakly, her heart aching in her chest.

There had been too much loss in the past twenty four hours, she couldn't take another. She didn't care if that made her sound weak, it was the truth and it hurt more than ever.

Shane was quiet for a moment, then he nodded his head. "Okay. We can wait. Give it another couple minutes."

What felt like an eternity of small talk and moments or silence passed before the two turned around and headed back down the road, back to where the group was.

"You okay?" Shane asked her as he came to a stop.

Nyvia laid her eyes upon Jim, who was seated against the trunk of a tree, his head down as he looked into his lap, drawing in deep breaths as he was being drawn closer and closer to death. She spotted the pistol is his hand and her bottom lip quivered.

"I'll be fine. This is just something that we have to get used to now." Nyvia replied and watched as everyone made their way back towards the RV. She rolled her window down and called out for Magna.

"Is it okay if she comes with us?" She asked Shane, although she was already sure he wouldn't have a problem with it.

"Sure, why not. That damn RV is probably filled to the brim anyways." He said with a light chuckle as Magna got into the back of the Jeep.

Things were quiet as the group set on down the road again. Nyvia could feel her eyes begin to slowly droop closed as the sun lowered onto the horizon, and she figured a little bit of shut eye would do her some good, with being on the road and all.

Some time later, approximately almost 2 hours later, Nyvia was awoken with a soft shake. When she opened her eyes, she was met with the sight of a rather large building not to far off in front of her.

"Welcome to the CDC." Shane announced to both Nyvia and Magna, then shut off the Jeep and grabbed hold of his rifle, keeping it close to him as they all slowly exited their vehicles.

"Looks.... alive." Magna said as her eyes looked over the mass amounts of dead bodies that were everywhere outside of the CDC, some in large piles. The sight made Nyvia's stomach churn.

Nyvia stuck close to Magna as the two grabbed their bags from the back of the RV, Glenn grabbing Luke's bag as he had a spare hand. The sun was beginning to set, casting dark shadows across the building and over the streets.
