I slowly walked down the hallway, trying to think of how to get Avery to notice me. Gia walked up beside me and linked her arm in mine.
"Hey." She said cheerfully. I smiled at her. She's so positive.
"What are you so happy about?" I asked.I already knew the answer.
"R.J asked me out." Gia said with a dreamy tone. Hannah smirked.
"And did you say yes, this time?" Hannah asked. Gia had been playing hard to get, for a while.
"I said I'll think about it. " Gia said, a smug grin playing on her face. I couldn't help but laugh, Gia had a knack for things like this. When we got to our buses I slowed down.
"We need to work on Avery and I." Hannah said seriously.
"There is no Avery and you." Gia said.
"Well I know that. Thats why we need to work on it, duh." I said getting on the bus. Gia sighed and followed me on.
"He's in love with Abigail. " Gia said, sitting down in a seat. Hannah huffed, sitting next to me.
"That can change." I said, playing with a loose thread on my shirt.
"Oh really? How exactly? " Gia asked, a grin growing on her face.
"Well, I know a bus driver, and a boot sale-" I started, but Gia cut me off with a laugh. I couldn't hold myself up as the laughter spilled from both of us, not because if my idea, but because Gia had the idea on a sleepover one night in junior high.
"R.J." Gia said.
"Really?" Hannah asked.
"He loves me not." Gia said with a frown.
"R.J. is dating Sylvia." Hannah said, knowing from Gia's endless rants.
"But can be arranged." Gia said with a laugh.
"How?" Hannah asked.
"He loves me." Gia saod with a blissful smile as she plucked the last petal off of the flower.
"Gia?!" Hannah exclaimed.
" I know a bus driver and a sales going on at the mall." Gia said trying not to smile.
Hannah and Gia were still laughing as Avery got on the bus. Hannah felt the heat rise in her cheeks as Gia mouths some incoherent words. He sat across the asile and smiled warmly at them. Hannah felt her heart flip in her chest as he turned back to his phone. Woah. She had no intention of getting over this.
