Sinbad was escorted back to the Scorpions den and placed in a tent where he sat waiting. He wasn't sure what he was waiting for but he knew when he was placed in the tent by Ahmose he was meant to stay there. It seemed days had passed but it was only hours when Ahmose returned to see Sinbad. When he stepped in the king jerked his head upwards to the male. He noticed his once black hair was actually white with charcoal dying it black. The dust of the charcoal fell down his figure and stained the tanned skin on the male. Sinbad watched as he sat down and handed a cup of tea to the King before him. Sinbad only stared at the cup unsure on the contents.

"Its Scorpions tea. Not poisonous I promise." Ahmose said. Sinbad looked to him then took the cup and placed it in his lap. Drawing a deep breath Sinbad looked down rethinking everything he could've done to save Apophis from becoming injured and in the situation she was in now.

"She's fine." Ahmose said gently. Sinbad barely flinched thinking happily that she was fine. The fact she was alright made everything alright in his mind. It didn't matter that his was in the den of his enemies at this point. As long as Apophis is fine and healthy. Ahmose watched King as he stared at his cup of steaming tea. It was black with swirling sick green that made an aroma of sweet yet bitter steam. Sinbad finally sipped the liquid tasting its contents. A whirl of flavors fell upon his tongue an added to the smells of the den. Ahmose looked up as one entered the tent giving him a nod. Sighing he looked to Sinbad.

"You can see her my King." Ahmose said gently. Sinbad looked up then rose quickly placing his glass down. Ahmose nodded to the male that had looked in before. He led Sinbad to a tent where a strong wave of herbal remedies scents filled his nostrils. As the curtain was pulled aside Sinbad saw Apophis laying on her back with bandages wrapped around her chest and sides. The arrow sat in a wooden bowl broken to pieces. The arrow tip was bloodied and laying in the bowl as well beside a small female who was cleaning her hands from the blood and herbs. Sinbad was given a gentle pat from the male that escorted him and left as he looked down at the sleeping female.

"She's in a deep sleep. The pain won't bother her for some time now. Even when it wears of the pain will be bearable." A small voice said from the small table. Sinbad looked to the female who was cleaning a few small tools now. Sinbad watched her for a few moments before looking to Apophis. Her figure was now more revealed than any time before. Now he could see every scar that plagued her small body. Cerberus was laying beside her. Now that Sinbad thought about it Cerberus wasn't their during the fight. But where could he have ran off to?

"Cerberus is a shadow hound. He disappears when a fight erupts and appears here. He was the one who warned us about the battle." The female looked up to Sinbad as he stared down at Apophis. Cerberus whimpered and nuzzled his hand apologizing for his absence. Sinbad looked down to the hound and took his furry head into the palms of his rough hands. Cerberus looked up at the male before him with eyes of sorrow.  Sinbad smiled and ran his fingers through the fur of the beast before him then walked to Apophis's side. He gently fell to his knees and took her hand gently. A kiss melted against her hand as the king beside her held her hand close.

"She didn't lie when she said you where a soft souled man." Sinbad looked to the female sitting beside the table now. Her eyes shown brightly with a scar running down her eye to her neck and further. Sinbad looked down and noticed the female had a missing foot much like his father. A large scar replaced the once useful limb. A gentle chuckle came from her as she moved the dress fold from the scar.

"She saved me you know. This is the only thing I suffered along with the scar over my left eye. This happened long before you where king. But now I am grateful those who are now living don't need to suffer this scar like I do. " Sinbad smiled to her and bowed his head. Apophis shifted but remained still after those words where spoken. Sinbad tightened his grip then looked to the female.

"Thank you miss. Your compliments warm me." Sinbad said lovingly. He watched her stand and lean into Cerberus as she walked closer to Apophis. Her fingers danced over the bandages on Apophis as she moved them aside to show the now stitched wound.

"I fixed her up. She will be just fine. Just another scar she received for a loved one." Sinbad ran his fingertips over the wound then gently placed the bandages back as the female tightened and tied it off. A bone needle was place through the cloth as a small was ball was pushed over the end for safety.

"My name is Salma. Apophis is my dear friend from youth." Sinbad took her hand and pressed a kiss to it as well and smiled to her.

"Thank you for caring for her Salma. Your truly an angel in my eyes." Salma chuckled and patted his head.

"Don't try your flirtatious antics on me. They don't work. I'm married to Ahmose." Salma said softly pulling her hand from his gently. A set of red feathers caught Sinbad's eyes as she passed by him with the bowl of arrow parts in hand. The two where placed behind her ear in the fashion Pisti normally wore.

"Your from Artemyra. Aren't you?" Sinbad asked. Salma chuckled and looked to the male before her.

"Ahmose and I both are. Difference is we lived in the valley's below the kingdom that held the gems in. We lived off the meat left there and built a home." Salma cleaned the bowl and it's contents before placing the arrows head in a small pouch and wrapping it in a type of string. Her hip rested on the table supporting her figure as she worked away. Once finished Salma took the pouch with the arrow's head and placed it in a small chest on her desk.

"Explains why the two of you look so different from the others of your village. How did you end up here though?" Sinbad sat down on the rug beside Apophis's sleeping body as Salma joined him seating herself across on a small mound of pillows. Now that she was sitting and leaning on the pillows Sinbad could see the roundness of her belly. She was evidently with child.

"We where found in our home. The Queen at the time was Mira's mother and she sent her armies to kill us. We where flushed out one end into a group of them and attacked. Barely made it alive but Ahmose was injured. Days travel and we had to stop. Ahmose was bound to die yet Apophis saved us. She healed Ahmose and saved my body. My foot was the only thing she couldn't save." Salma rested her hands over her belly with her ring glistening in the fire light. She smiled as Cerberus lay next to her with his snout on her belly. Sinbad held Apophis's hand smiled at her.

"She seems so noble. How did any of you end up in a place like this?" Sinbad asked looking to Salma. As she opened her mouth to respond a male's voice cut in.

"Though this place is full of out casts and wanted men, it is fairly safe. When we first arrived it was havoc but with Apophis, Salma, and my help we got it under control. A few others helped and that's what we call the Gold Scorpions. You won't notice them in the den but when with us you can find them easily." Sinbad looked over to see Ahmose with his blue feathers in his hair. Now he could see how Ahmose was a member of the Artemyra with the feathers and stance he took in the lighting. Ahmose walkd to Salma and kissed her temple before seating himself beside Cerberus.

"You can't forget Badr." Salma chirped in. Sinbad looked at her quickly with his eyes widened. He tightened his grip on Apophis and drew a breath.

"Badr? Badoru?" Sinbad asked. Salma nodded and Ahmose mumbled in agreement. Salma straightened herself and began to speak.

"Yes. He was a great man and still is. Though we know of his death we can only imagine how he still rains his kindness over the after life." Sinbad looked to Apophis then asked gently.

"Could you describe him?" Salma stood up and walked to a chest opening it and removing several papers. She came back and handed one to him with a sketching. In it a sketching of a man with long hair but unmistakably Badr. His features young but still bold like in Sinbad's youth with a feather hanging from a braid in his hair. His eyes where bright with life like he had the day he was forced to war once again. In Badr's arms was a small girl with lightly colored hair and much larger eyes. She held up a necklace and smiled greatly with her youthful freckles still so noticeable. Sinbad gasped gently as he recognized the female. In Badr's arms was a young but still beautiful Apophis.
