Apocalypse trotted around the village of the Pharaoh's kingdom. The Pyramids where still a great distance from the Castle but noticeable when on horse back. I sighed as we circled once more. "I don't know Apocalypse." I said disappointed by my results of this journey. "He's pretty good at keeping himself protected. Guess he isn't as dumb as the elders claim him to be." I said then turned Apocalypse around to circle again. Jerking his head up he snorted warning me of on comers from the side of us. I looked over and noticed two guards approaching Apocalypse and I. Gently tugging on the reigns I turned him around and met them in the middle. "Hello there sirs." I greeted nodding to them. "Hello miss." I rested my arm on the horn of the saddle and leaned forward. "Can I be of assistance today?" I asked watching them closely. The rested the spears they carried on the ground and looked up at me. "We couldn't help but notice your circling the castle. May we ask why?" I thought to myself wondering if I should make a smart reply just to nerve them. "Because I want to steal some things." I teased earning a deep glare. "I'm joking. Honestly I couldn't help but notice my dear horse had some fat on his bones that shouldn't be there. So I saddled him up and decided to walk around the castle to work it off. I didn't want to stray far from the village and knew my way to and from the castle so it was my best idea." I explained. It wasn't a lie technically. Apocalypse was a bit on the heavy side now that kids had started feeding him treats none stop. He glared up at me huffing and stomping a back leg. "Is that so? What house you staying in?" They asked and I leaned back. "Right through the market and down several alleyways. Hit a house with a cracking door painted with the Sun god and God of death at peace with one another. " I said and smiled at them. "My aunt supports the king. She is his clothes designer and color schemer for when he's building his tomb." It was true. My Aunt lived here and was all of what I said. She and I didn't meet with eye to eye but she would cover my tracks with truths of her own as long as I didn't threaten her king. She was loyal to the Pharaoh and me. The guards looked at me surprised. "Jamal is your aunt? From which side?" one asked and I thought. "My father's side. She was adopted by his parents when her village was burned and people killed. King Sinbad found her technique and designs breath taking and requested her assistance." They nodded and stepped back. "Carry on then miss." I nodded and thanked them then Apocalypse moved onward. He snorted and moved his head annoyed. "Look I needed to make a quick story Apocalypse and yes you have gained weight. You need to learn to refuse a few treats and instead love on the littles." I said and patted his shoulder. "Take me to the one area where the guards hadn't been too freaked about." I ordered and he snorted in response. His pace quickened to a trot. We soon came upon the sides of the castle that weren't over ran by the guards and soldiers. I hopped off and looked at Apocalypse. "Keep far from the castle and avoid the guards we met. I'll be back before dusk." I said and he nudged me  in response. I kissed his nose and watched him take off. After out of sight I started my mission. I ran over and ducked into the shadows moving my hood to mask my face. I crept to a window avoiding guards and hiding from soldiers as they passed by. I came upon the window and reached back spinning a gem on my back. A scythe formed from it's activation and gleamed in the sunlight. It's black blade always excited me and was made for the purposes of the god of death's child. I was his descendant born and raised by the Scorpions aka the people ruled by Commander Ahmose. I pulled my scythe off and reached up hooking window edge. I yanked and pulled myself up to the window looking in. No one was around. I could sneak in unseen for now. Throwing my legs over I landed with a silent thud. I placed my scythe back in it's holster then took off. I walked out of the room slowly checking the area before walking down the hall. I checked over my shoulder to be sure no one was following or sneaking up behind me. Voices neared me from down the hall in front of me. I quickly pressed myself against the wall closest to the corner. Two women in dresses and papers where taking over them walked past not noticing an unwanted guest hiding in the corner. I slipped past the corner and down another hall looking around. Looking around I ducked underneath a shelf in the room I entered. It had a bed with several shelves and tables which I assumed to be the Pharaoh's room. I decided to search the area for anything useful. Drawers filled with clothes and royal jewelry stacked onto the tables and shelves. I looked through the took a necklace that was decorated with gems of all sorts. I placed it in my small bag on my hip. Sneaking out I continued my search for the Pharaoh. No room held the man not even the thrown room. I sighed in annoyance until I came upon one room. I pushed open the door looking in. My eyes widened at the shelves stacked high with books and scrolls I couldn't help but stare at in envy. The Pharaoh known by the elders as the stupidest king has books upon books and scroll upon scrolls filled with knowledge that I wished to have. I stepped in and spun around slowly to take in everything in this room. A desk in the middle of it all had scrolls unrolled and books opened left for unwilling eyes. My hand ran over the desk as I looked over the books and scrolls. I picked up the book closest to me reading the words. "How does one person own so many books and not read them?" I whispered. "I don't like reading  and many kings before me collected and had these made." I jumped and looked up to see a male with long purple hair and many jewels adoring his body. Standing before me was the king of Egypt and ruler of it's people. "King Sinbad." I said calmly placing the book down. "You requested my presence." The king smiled at me crossing his arms. "Indeed I did. Apophis the bandit of Egypt." I removed my hood revealing my tattooed face and shoulders. I bowed slightly in respect. "At your service."
