Chapter Twelve

Laura's POV

The car ride home was awkward to say the least. Nye's knuckles were white and he kept clenching his jaw. Not one word was spoken. The radio wasn't even turned on. Silence filled the car. Two streets from the castle Nye stopped the car.

"Tomorrow lunch, will you come to town with me?"

I snapped my head towards Nye.

He wasn't that angry? He listened to me? Is this a date?

"Um, sure" I replied tentatively.

I heard him exhale. He really was holding his breath.

He started the car again after giving me a small smile and we arrived at the castle.

I stepped out of the car and was attacked by two little monsters, "Ra, ra, ra, ra, ra, ra".

"Who's attacking me? I'm hit, I'm hit!" I whisper yelled.

They stopped attacking me, too busy laughing before running off and hugging Nye. He stood there shell shocked. Before picking both boys up and started running through the garden.

Smiling I walked back into the castle to find my father

Nick's POV

I was pleased. Nye took my princess to talk. She may finally find out he is her inamorato. I worry though of her reaction. I was interrupted from my musings by a soft knock at the door.

"Come in"

My darling daughter slipped into my office. I could see the tears in her eyes.

"What's wrong my darling? Speak to me"

"Nye is my inamorato."

I could help the smile that lit up my face

"...yes" I prompted

"Can I trust him?" She asked before bursting into tears, "I love him but I can't forgive him for what he did 6 years ago"

I rushed to my poor daughter and wrapped her in a hug.

"Darling, has he told you his side of the story? You must learn to forgive him. But never ever forget. You won't be able to forget, but you must forgive him. He loves you with all his heart, he will continue to love you even if you push him away. Her is your perfect other half. You will fight but no matter what he will love you"

"Thank you," she whispered, "we are going for lunch tomorrow, is that alright?"

"Of course my darling. Now I think you should go freshen up, I can hear the boys calling for you"

And with that she kissed my cheek and left my office.
