Angie was busy creating a new recipe while Kelly the Cook and Alice stood watching her warily. The last time Angie invade Kelly’s territory and make a mess of it in her wake, Kelly was exhausted thinking all the cleaning she would have to do once Angie is done. It is not that the sweet lady didn't know how to cook but Angie just makes a massive mess in the kitchen and Kelly couldn't stand to watch the after-storm scene.
"For whom you’re cooking for madam, if you don't mind me asking?" Kelly ask in her thick Scotland accent and Angie look up from her current project, smiling sweetly to the kind cook who wouldn't say anything for having a lady invading her sanctuary.
"Mind you? You may curse me if you like." Kelly grins at Angie practicality. "Well, I just thought I cook something. It has been awhile I wreck your kitchen, now seems like a good time." Kelly shook her head, cluck her tongues like a worried hen and then sigh when Angie accidentally knocks the flour off the table when she reach for the rolling pin. "Oops."
"You know, you don't sound repentant." Angie grins at Kelly accusing tone.
"I'm repentant, oh." The last past utter in soft tone when Angie drop an egg to the floor. Kelly narrows her eyes.
"You might as well knead the dough at the floor." Angie only reply is to grin innocently. Then Gregory appears by the door and shows a gilded card on a silver tray, and Angie knows who her caller is. Angie looks down at her flour-covered hands and then waves it off.
"It's the Earl of Lanchester. You don't want to see him?" Gregory voice filled with disbelief.
"Nah...Tell him I'm not at home, or I'm indisposed."
"You're quite healthy I see Lady Alistair, to say that you're indisposed." Lord Lanchester greeted her beside Gregory and the old butler bow, and quickly fade to the background where he'll appear fast if Angie calls for him.
"Well, this is a nice surprise, to have an earl visit the kitchen." Angie said, not looking up from her kneading, missing him shrugging his shoulder to her comment.
"It is a nice experience, to see you covered with flour. Is that eggs on the floor?"
"It is." Angie put her cut dough in the oven and then wipes her hand clean. "Kelly can you see to it so that it wouldn't burned, please?"
Lord Lanchester follows Angie to her drawing room and took his seat. "It is however a surprise to see you in the kitchen. You know how to cook?" Angie narrows her eyes at him.
"Is that an insult I hear my lord?"
"I am a demon, according to you that is. I have to live up to my name."
Angie grins.
"Why are you here today, if you don't mind me asking?" She try to make it sound in carefree manner but Lord Lanchester still smirk in his devilish way and lean forward a bit.
"I do mind Angel. I'm just here to court you." Angie stares at him and then she crosses her arms. "I am! I'm serious in courting you."
"Somehow I don't seems to believe you Demon," Angie stress out the nickname since Lord Lanchester call her Angel, "and then what?" He frowns.
"What do you mean by that?"
"And what will you do after you finish courting me, if I may put it blandly?" He crosses his arm and grins at her.
