As Lord Lanchester close the door when he came in, Angie found that the spacious carriage seems to be filled with his presence only. Shifting to make room for him, Angie nearly collide her knees to his and then shift again to give room to Lady Lockhart- now to be call Cecil. Angie is glad to make friend and she know Cecil will be a true friend to her, it is not that she is an expert in the matter for she never has the chance or time to make friend.
However, by befriending Cecil, it comes in package of another fellow she is reluctant to make acquaintance; Lord Lanchester. Oh she knew it is unfair to judge him by rumor but she too didn't want to receive the end glare of hopeful mama and scheming debutante. It is not like she had not notice the look the hopeful mama gave her in the town or in the shops, she just couldn't simply ignore Cecil delightful chatter, thus wanted to be in Cecil company a while longer. Then Angie heard Cecil calling to her, breaking her deep reverie.
"I'm sorry, my mind wander. What were you saying?" Cecil, being nice and charming, just smiles at Angie's fault and pat her hand.
"I was saying that you could come early. I would love to have a chat with you before the party. God knows I need someone with a cool head to talk too." Cecil pause and then grin, her brilliant blue eyes sparkle, just like Lord Lanchester eyes, but his are darker like the deep ocean of the Mediterranean seas. Angie mentally shook herself, telling her not to think about the blueness of his eyes or how she wanted to touch his short clipped dark hair just to find out how does he cut his hair. "...or we could go back to town since it seems you've things you've forgotten to buy." Angie quickly bring her focus back on Cecil to hear her said that.
"God no, please. I have enough torture following you the whole day. No offense Lady Alistair but I'm happy to announce that I'm tired of playing Cecil's servant today." Cecil laughs and pat Lord Lanchester's knee in sisterly manner.
"It is really not that bad Hughes. Today is simply a short trip; really, I rush through to make you happy." Lord Lanchester grumble and threw his sight to the small window, seeing that they are close to Angie's house. Angie could see Mike debating himself to pick her up at town or just trust Lord Lanchester to convey her home. Lord Lanchester saw Mike too and he grins at Angie in careless manner.
"It seems he is loyal as he is peculiar a driver." Angie shrugs.
"The whole household of them, and I'm glad to have them with me." Angie turn to Cecil and grasp her dainty hand, unlike her own hands which are use to labor. "It is very nice to meet you Cecil, and it is my very honor to befriending you. And thank you so much for inviting me for the party when I know it is strictly among family." Cecil smile and pat her cheek.
"It is me who should thank you Angie. It is a real pleasure to have a friend who really is honest towards me, for once, in London." Lord Lanchester opens the door once the carriage stop and he handed her down carefully. He raises Angie's hand to his lip and kisses the knuckles gently.
"Until we meet again, Lady Alistair."
"Thank you my lord-"
"Call me Hughes since you're calling my dear sister by her name." Angie smile and incline her head a little to him.
"Thank you Lord Lanchester." He grins at her reluctance to speak his name and then climb inside. Cecil poke her head out and grin, just like her brother does a while ago.
"I just can't wait to let Mother meet you. She'll love you. Good day Angie, remember to come to the party!" Cecil yells out her reminder as the carriage rolls away while Mike approaches her.
