Aphmau

The next day, I woke up and smelled food.

Waffles, to be exact, and bacon.

I shot out of bed, and ran downstairs to find Aaron cooking.

"Morning Aph." He says, smiling.

"Good morning!" I chirp, coming over. Kaiya and Taiya are already at the table. I sit down with them, and the boys are in their high chairs making baby noises. Aaron comes over, and sets food-filled plates down in front of us. We start eating immediately, as he feeds the babies.

"Anything happening today?" Kaiya asks.

"We're going to bring you around town, hopefully to help jog your memories." He says, turning to us and putting the baby food down.

"Sounds fun." Taiya replies, pushing away her empty plate. I do the same

"When are we going?" I ask.

"Around lunch." He replies. We all nod.

So Aphmau is back... great.

More competition.

Along with those two twin girls they adopted.

I hate them.

I've hated her ever since college.

They can't take him from me.

Though, I'm proud to say I may have a had a hand in getting them away.

Looks like that backfired...

"Cathy!" Betty pulls me from my thoughts.

"Huh?" I ask.

"Pay attention, it's your turn." She says. I nod and grab the dice, rolling them. I move my pawn, then Jenny rolls.

"What's got you so distracted lately?" She asks, moving her pawn.

"Just thinking." I reply.

Hm... who's the best target? Not Aphmau, too dangerous. If I get caught I'm dead.

"About?" Betty asks, taking her turn.

"Nothing important." I say, rolling the dice again.

Kawaii~chan maybe? No, too costly. The GF would lose their scientists.

"It's important, if your spacing out all the time. What's wrong?" Jenny pushes, moving her pawn and grabbing a card. She sighs, and moves back to the start. I snicker.

"It's really not important. I just have a lot on my mind." I assure them.

Who would turn the most people against her? Hmm...

"Are you sure?" Betty asks.

"Yes, I'm sure." I sigh.

Zane. He's the perfect target.

"And, I win!" I exclaim, moving my pawn to the finish.

"Aww man! I was hoping to win." Betty sighs.

"Good job Cathy." Jenny smiles.

I stand up and stretch.

"I'm gonna go play on my laptop. See ya." I wave, and go into my room.

But I don't start my laptop.

Instead, I open one of the drawers, and pull out a gleaming silver knife.

"Heh, say your goodbyes Zane."

Zane

"I have a really bad feeling all of a sudden..." I mutter.

"Zane? You okay?" Nana asks.

"Yeah, just... have to use the washroom." I lie, standing up. "Be back in a minute."

Kim's eyes follow me as I walk away, telling me it's Ghost, not Kim. Aphmau waves.

"I have to go too..." Kaiya sighs, standing up. She follows me, and I enter the bathroom, going into one of the stalls. I come back out and wash my hands.

The sound of a child crying distracts me from going back to the group.

It's coming from outside.

I look out the window.

I don't see anyone, but the crying continues.

Better safe then sorry...

I climb out the window to check, and follow the noises.

It's in an alleyway nearby.

I hear footsteps behind me.

I whirl around to see.

Nobody is there.

A little creeped out, I go back to following the noises.

The alleyway where it's coming from is empty.

A tape recorder lies on the ground.

It's playing one sound on loop.

The sound of a child crying.

"Say goodbye."

Those are the last words I hear.

Before everything goes black.
