With the Yule ball only two days away Kallie had gone into Hogsmeade in the hope of purchasing a dress. The village was quiet when they- Kallie accompanied by Fred and Luna- emerged from the Shrieking Shack late in the evening. The cold air nipped at them as they made their way to Mrs Bumble's clothes shop that, luckily, was still open. The elderly lady ushered them into the shop; Mrs Bumble's pince-nez were perched precariously on her nose and her silver hair was a mess of curls and wisps of hair that had just escaped the black ribbons in her hair, and as Kallie's eyes wandered to her outfit she was reminded of why everyone called her Mrs Bumble. Without fail the shop owner wore black and yellow themed outfits every day. That particular day's outfit was black, baggy tights and a mustard yellow tunic and sunflower yellow ballet pumps on her feet.

"Hello darlings, how can I help?" the three smiled at her before Fred nodded towards Kallie.

"She needs a dress for the ball." he grinned at Mrs Bumble, pushing Kallie forwards and towards the shop owner and her tape measure and sewing kit, "Something that screams, George take me."

Kallie hit Fred then, slightly irritated by his not so subtle reference to her muttering he'd heard days before. The elderly witch's eyes lit up at the mention of George and she clapped her frail hands together before running to the back of the shop only to return with a mountain of colourful fabrics and a sea of sequins and ribbons.

"Oh, when that boy sees you he'll fall for you all over again!" Mrs Bumble chattered excitedly.

"He hasn't fallen the first time." Kallie replied, slightly sad. The only response she received was a knowing smile from the seamstress before she continued to take measurements.

Half the evening later the three Hogwarts students returned to their dorms, and Kallie had her ball gown in a neat little package under her arm. She wasn't ready for the Yule Ball and to see George with little miss Ravenclaw who turned out to be called Amy, but at least she had a dress now, and Luna had found her some shoes. She was nervous, she didn't know what to expect from a ball and she wasn't all that excited to watch couples dance while only being partnered with Luna who had kindly offered to go with her as neither of them had a date.

The morning of the 23rd of December, the day before the ball, saw Hogwarts in uproar, every girl was chatting about her date and how perfect the night would be and every guy was having the sudden realisation he didn't actually know where his suit was and one Durmstrang student had just realised he didn't have a date.

Kristoff Strömberg sat with some of his Durmstrang friends on the opposite side of the Great Hall as Kallie and Luna ate their breakfast with their other Hufflepuff friend who had been nicknamed Sunshine. The strapping 6'3 sex god was watching them, his mates nudging him and cheering him on as he stood from the bench he was sat on. The three girls didn't take any notice of the older boy until he stopped, stood over them.

"Hallo." He said, the trio looked up at him, confusion written on all three of their faces as his eyes stayed fixed on Kallie, "Are you going to the ball."

"Erm..." Kallie began, unsure of what to say, "Yes we are, are you?"

"Ja." He took a step closer to her, "You will come with me."

"Is that a question or a statement?" Sunshine asked, looking at the Swedish schoolboy, Kallie rolled her eyes at the sassy girl and decided to answer the not quite question she hadn't really been asked.

"Yeah, sure, I'll come with you. You don't mind, do you guys?" she smiled at the guy and her friends, "I'll meet you at the bottom of the stairs tomorrow night."

The Swede nodded at them before he left and the three girls to continue their gossiping now on the far more interesting subject of "Why is a Durmstrang asking a chubby Hufflepuff out?" however, in their private, gossiping state the three girls did not notice the looks they were getting from the Weasley twins, a glare from George and a rather disgruntled look from Fred.
