Chapter 3

"Well well well," I smile at the giant container of chemicals. The same chemicals used on my mom, my dad, and me. I turn and smirk at Alex, "this'll be fun."

He rolls his eyes, "What exactly is the plan Acey?"

My smirk morphs to a smile, "Simple." I clap my hands together and walk closer to the vat of toxic things. "We are going to use this on the Petals."

Alex' eyes widen at my words, "You want to take that," he points to the vat, "and use it on them?"

I look at container then back at him, "Well yea."

"Won't it hurt?"

"Yes, yes it will."

Alex snaps his head towards the sudden voice, but I don't need to, cause I already know that I'll find Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Robin blocking our exit.

I look back at Alex, "Hey, Instinct?"

"Yea, Ace?" he answers without turning towards me.

I slowly turn to face the not-so-super-zeroes, "Matchstick."

Out of the corner of my eye I see Alex smile, "You got it boss."

"I'm afraid you do not understand," Aqualad states, "you are under arrest."

I laugh the good ol' family laugh and inwardly smirk at Kid Mouth's unsettled expression. "Okay yea, that's a good one Fish-sticks." His glare hardens at my unwanted nickname. Rude. "Where's the uh rest of your, what is it, mini league?" They all start glaring at me now, I shrug "What? Was it past their bedtime?"
Alex snorts.

"Guess again." me and Alex turn to come face to face with the others.

I look at them then back at the original three. "Huh." they all smirk proud to have 'stumped' me. I turn back to Instinct, "Guess I owe you 10 bucks, they are competent."

An arrow launches and incases me in foam,
"How's that for competent?" Artemis questions with a smirk.

I smirk back, "I don't know, how's your mother?" Her smirk drops and worried eyes replace it, "She doin' okay? Last I heard she was having trouble gettin' around these days."

"Enough." Aqualad cuts off my speech. "We will take Ace back to HQ for interrogation."

I smile, "And what about Instinct?" they all turn around, but it's too late. He's gone.

Robin turns on me, "Where did he go Ace?!?"

I shrug, "I don't know but it must be really embarrassing, not to mention frustrating, how someone suddenly disappears in the middle of a conversation. But you wouldn't know anything about that, would you?"

Speed feet tilts his head and I can see a glare went to him by Bird Brains and Green Bean smile slightly. They are totally not suspicious. No, not at all.

"Let's just get her back to base." Superboy grunts.

Finally.

"Miss Martain." Fish Boy gestures to me.

"Oh! Right." she smiles sheepishly and starts levitating me towards their ship.

"Why were you at Ace Chemicals?" AquaLad asks me.

I tilt my head, "Why are any of us here? Are we even actually here? Maybe you were a normal boy who spent to long underwater and slipped into a coma. Maybe when you wake up you'll find that you were never a hero. That all of this is just a dream."

He glares at me, "You're avoiding the question-"

"And you're avoiding my existential crisis inducing 'what if' statements. I think that makes us even." He glares even harder, "In fact-" I cut myself off and tilt my head. There's an unnatural feeling in my head almost as if, someone else is in there. I start laughing, "Oh this is too good to be true!"

AquaLad looks confused at my random outburst, "What are you talking about?"

I stop laughing abruptly and stare him dead in the eye, "You told your teammate to go into the mind of a psychopath!!" I start laughing again as panic settles on his features and his head snaps towards the one way mirror. I was too busy laughing to care when he sprinted out of the room, slamming the door behind him.

With a long sigh, I finish off my long laugh. I gently shut my eyes concentrating on the chip in my brain. 'Gonna be home late, pops.' and thus I send the message through the secret backdoor I found in the kiddies security system. As soon as I finish, the door slams open.

"What have you done to Megahn!!!!" Superboy roars as he slams me against the wall.

"Superboy!!" Robin yells from the door alongside KidFlash.

Speed Feet finishes the thought, "We need her in one piece if we want answers, dude."

I smile at the young kryptonian, "Wow, gettin' rough and this is only our third date." I raise both my eyebrows towards Robin, "Usually that's your favorite thing to do Bird-brain." His face goes red at my words, and KF looks like he's gonna explode from laughter.

"Okay everyone just, just calm down! Put her down SB! Megahn is fine, and with her we can get the other bad guys." Bird-boy says making a clam-down motion.

Super-pet growls, "....Fine." He drops me from the wall. "But as soon as we find your friends, you and I are gonna-"

"SUPERBOY!" Robin yells.

Superboy huffs,but leaves nonetheless, I snort as he leaves.

"Protective aren't you Birdie?" he blushes at my taunts. I shrug, "Don't be embarrassed Bird-Boy, it's kinda cute." I smirk at him.

He glares at me before handcuffing me back to the chair, roughly. I open my mouth to make another well timed innuendo but I get a message via Chip in meh brain. 'Don't worry Princess! Me and Harls are gonna have some fun!' I grin.

"What?" Robin questions with an annoyed sigh.

I give him and Speed-Feet the family smile, "Pops says 'Hi' Birdbrain."

HIs eyes widen dramatically at my words, "What are you planning!?"

I give him puppy dog eyes, "What could I do? I'm stuck right here, with you." I purr at him before sighing, "And Flash-Boy."

"It's KidFlash!!"

"Not the time Kid!" Robin yells before running out the door, towards the rest of the kiddies probably, with the speedster not to far behind.
