YOUR POV

I'm sitting on the bridge in the captain's chair and yelling commands at the officers on the bridge. Red lights and alarms are blaring, and the ship is being attacked. The ship jerked forward severely, which had caused me to fly forward with a scream.

*Record scratch, freeze frame*

Yep. That's me. 19 year old y/n McCoy. Yes, McCoy as in Chief Medical Officer Leonard "Bones" McCoy. That's my dad. Let's start at the beginning.

*Record scratch, rewind*

"God damn it Leonard!! This is all your fault! I want her out of me!" My mom screams while crushing dad's hand. "C'mon babe, a few more pushes.. you've got this." Dad encourages while brushing the sweaty hairs from moms forehead.-

Okay, well, that was too far. But yea, background information: I was from dad's first marriage, after about a year, mom couldn't take the whole 'baby situation'. So her and dad got divorced, it was a mutual thing. Dad obviously took custody over me. Then came Natira about 7 years later. I was 8 at the time when they started dating. About four years later, Natira and dad got married. I was 12. Then two more years later, Natira got pregnant with dads baby. I was 14. It was a girl, they named her Joanna. Everything was good, then Natira had done some things that she thought would be okay with dad. Long story short, dad was not okay with it, he fought for custody over Joanna. He lost. Fell into a sort of drinking depression. Dad and I joined Star Fleet. I was personally selected by one of the Captains of one of the starships. Captain Pike. Christopher Pike. I was way smarter than all of the kids my age. Pike found me at a small gym that allowed kids my age to train and learn boxing and other hand-to-hand combat. Dad didn't know that I got this kind of training. I had skipped grades already, I had about two more years of high-school. I was set to graduate at 16. That's what I did. Right after, I joined Star Fleet. Dad wasn't happy but he let me go. I had originally gone in for Medical, but that had turned into mostly Medical and Command. I also had done a few classes for Engineering. But I had two uniforms to mostly wear. Blue and Yellow. When dad found out about the Command, I thought I saw real smoke come out of his ears. Like in those old cartoons. After dad calmed down and accepted it.

But to the beginning of the mission, I had already graduated when the call from Vulcan came in. I was with my dad in the audience of James T. Kirk's hearing. Spock was surprisingly a good friend of mine. Well, what I would consider a good friend. He probably just thought of me as annoying. We all stood up after we were all told to report to our respected hangers for ship assignments. Just before dad and I had been separated, he pulled me to the side. "Be safe y/n/n. I love you." Dad says then kisses my forehead. "You too dad, stay safe. I love you too." I hug him and then we pull apart and go to our shuttle areas. "...Lynn; Farragut, Moy; Kingston, McCoy; Enterprise. God speed, you are dismissed." The Lieutenant yells while reading off of a PADD, then we all disperse to our shuttles. I reach the Enterprise's and get on. I sit in the seat on the shuttle, and pick at my fingernails and looking out the window while waiting for the shuttle to take off. Next thing I knew, someone say down next to me. I look over then look back at my hand. I pause, then looked back at the person. "Jim?" I ask and he lulls his head to look at me, and he smiles. "What in gods name happened to you?!" I ask sitting up and feeling his pulse, and putting the back of my hand to his forehead. "You've got a fever.." I mutter as I continue to check his face. I cup his face and make him look at me, then put one up my thumbs just under his eyebrow and gently push up to get a look at his eyes. "They're dilated.. what on Earth happened to you?" I ask louder, trying to get his attention. "Hey, Jim!" I whisper-shout at him while lightly tapping his cheek with my right hand. "Huh..?" He says looking at me. "What did you do?" I ask slower, and he looks around. "Hey, focus on me Jim. What happened? What did you do? Did you take anything?" I ask as I pull his face back to me. "I might throw up on you.." Jim mutters. I look down and my hair falls to cover my face, and I take his arm to take his pulse. Then someone sat behind Jim. "Hey, what are you doing?" A deep voice said a little rudely. "This man is sick," I say looking up to see my dad leaning up in between the two seas Jim and I were occupying.
"Dad?"
"Y/n?"
"What are you doing here?" Dad asks. "I was assigned to the Enterprise, duh." I say as if it was obvious. Which it was. "Well, obviously. You're right.." He mutters. "What did you do to Jim, dad?" I ask. "I may have given him a hypo to give him to give him the side affects of a certain sickness what I don't think we should get into.." Dad says quietly, and I turn to him wide-eyed. "Dad! What did you give him?" I ask turning in my seat, and Jim's head lulls to the right. "Look, y/n, you should have seen him. He was grounded, he looked like someone just kicked a puppy..." Dad says and I look at him incredulously. "Dad!" I say a little too loudly, then I look around. "He's allergic to some medication!" I whisper-shout at dad, and his eyes widen. "Oh god.." Dad whispers, and I facepalm. "I guess we'll have to wait to see what the reactions are because you won't tell me what you gave him.." I say then the PA system starts. "Hello, this is Captain Pike of the USS Enterprise, we're about to take off, please fine a seat and buckle in." Pike says, and I do exactly that. I sigh, turning back in my seat, then look at Jim. I buckle his safety harness for him, then buckle myself in. I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't one of those people who were perfectly fine with flying. I was usually okay, but just not with shuttles. I hates them. One crack in the hull, and we all burn. The shuttle starts to take of, and I grab onto Jim's hand tightly. Dad saw this. About an hour later, we finally reached the space station where all of the starships were stationed. I looked out the window, and let a small gasp out. "Wow.." I whisper. "Jim, look.. dad look.." I say to Jim, then to dad a little louder so he could hear but still looking out the window. "I think I might throw up on you.." Jim says and I look up him. His eyes tightly screwed shut, beads of sweat coming off of his hairline and forehead, and he looks pale. "Jim, breath.." I say turning to him, and he shakes his head. "Jim, breath! Don't make me hit you in the stomach." I threatened, and Jim's eyes snapped open. He tried taking breaths. "Slowly.. and short breaths for now." Jim listened and took short slow breaths for a little till he could breath mostly normally now. "Now look," I say pointing out of the window, then I hear dad gasp 'good god' and Jim just breathing heavy.

After the shuttle for docked into the Enterprise, dad and I grabbed Jim from under his arms and lead him to MedBay. "How do you know Jim is allergic to some medication?" Dad asks as we lay Jim onto the biobed. "How long till these side affects wear off?" Jim asked in a annoyed-slurred tone. "About now." I say, the push a hypospray into Jim's neck. "What do yo-" is all Jim said before he fell backwards onto the bed, fast asleep. "But to answer your question dad, I know lots about Jim you don't. Don't worry about it." I state as dad helps me pull Jim farther up on the bed so he can lay semi-comfortably. These Bio beds aren't necessarily the most comfortable things. I start to arrange some medical supplies, then my communicator chirps. "McCoy," I answer. "This is Commander Spock, please report to the bridge." Spock says into the communicator. "On my way, sir." I say then close the communicator. "Gotta go to the bridge. I'll be back dad." I say passing him and putting a hand on his shoulder. "Okay, be safe." Dad says. I turn around but still walking, now backwards, "At least we're on the same ship, you can still take care of me." I say with a famous McCoy smirk, then dad smiles back. "I'll see you around, dad." I say then stepping into the turbo lift.
