I walked into the meeting room. His emerald gaze swept the room. Arthur's face turned into a smirk. Matt sat nervously in the Ace's seat, and Wang sat in the Jack's seat with a slight lean forward. In the Queen's seat was Arthur, arms crossed, "Well it's about time!"
"Sorry?" I answer asked, "I wasn't aware that I had a meeting this fine morning."
"I thought Matthews told you last night," he said looking to Matt
"I wasn't told," I looked at Matt with a glare, "But I'm here now." I sat in the king's seat.
"We've called this meeting to discuss our meeting with other 4 kingdoms." Arthur stood up, "What we will be discussing is up to you Amelia."
I thought for a second. "Well I figured that we could discuss the situation of Joker Island—"
"What do you mean 'Situation'?" Wang accusatory asked.
"The magic radiation leaking in the Heart/Spade forest border," Matt said, "It's been emitting from Joker Island since May, eh"
"It's creating new flowers and turning the animals insane," I explained, "I went out about a month ago and it's only gotten worse. The animals have begun fighting, plants overtake other native species and the border issues are only growing."
"Well I suppose it's not easily ignorable now," Arthur gestured vaguely, "Though I am afraid that it could be only affecting our border with the Hearts only. Do you have anything else you are going to discuss with the other kings?"
"I suppose the open borders was the second one," I said, "and I suppose that I'd hadn't had a third."
"Ridiculous," Wang stood up and came over to the chair meeting me eye-to-eye, our noses almost touching, "You don't have a list for the arriving Kings. This is why Matthew should be the king and not you!"
My face twitched like a rabbit. Something in me snapped like a rubber band. It wasn't the first time he'd said that but if I'd gotten my way it would've been the last. Arthur stepped towards him and slapped him clean across the face, leaving a red mark across his face. Matt started to laugh, I snorted out of fear and Arthur looked pissed. "Perhaps you'll be nicer to people, eh Wang." Matt said though large laughs and wheezing.
"You all are crazy," Wang kinda yelled, "absolutely insane all of you."
"Perhaps we are insane Wang," I said, "But it's fun to be insane."
"You're completely crazy," Wang just stood dumbfounded.
I burst into tears of laughter. Arthur looked smugly at Wang and gave him a crooked smile, "It runs in the family I suppose."
He threw his arms down in fury and stormed out of the room muttering something about these damn westerners, the door slamming on his way out. "Well that escalated rather quickly." Matt sat back down his seat.
Arthur paced back to his seat, "What the hell has gotten into him?!"
"He's gonna get his ass kicked," I said, "Maybe the old man craves death by my feet so far up his—"
"Amelia!" Arthur interrupted my perfectly good response. "He may be old and annoying and incredibly rude—"
"Making a really good argument here on his behalf," Matt quipped
"But he's great at running this kingdom's finances," Arthur shot daggers at him then me, "And it would be best to not upset him."
"Got it Dad," I said.
"Good," Arthur started to leave, "Just want the best for both of you."
"We got it, eh" Matt said, "We are gonna try."
"Of course you guys will," Arthur left, the door softly closed.
"Matt," I said, "My office, ten minutes."
