A Certain Feeling

I tapped my fingers over my desk. It was solid wood with a smooth finish. I had a few things on it. There was a picture of me and Matt when we were younger, standing on a beach somewhere, smiling with wide mouths and teeth missing. It was faded slightly from time but it was a small reminder of a good time. The office itself was fairly large, tall bookshelves and two larger couches to seat dignitaries in my office. The newest of the inventions was a large box that connected with another one in Arthur's, Wang's and Matt's offices to communicate without having to call a meeting or walking too the office. Underneath the desk was a set of dueling swords, one of which Matt was currently playing with, "You know you could spar with Leon, or Macau."
"They don't spar," I grabbed the other sword, "They let me win, you on the other hand actually spar."
"You shouldn't spar in a dress," Arthur walked in and sat down, "Isn't ladylike."
"I'm fine. Besides I'm not wearing a dress," I'd had changed into a pair of trousers and boots, "I can spar him in anything anyway."
"You sound pretty confident in yourself," Matt raised the foil to fight position, "time to if you can back that statement, eh."
"20 coins on Matt," Arthur called to us, "30 on Amelia."
"I don't like that wager," I said
"Because?" Arthur questioned
"I makes you seem like you want me to lose," I raised my foil.
We began to spar, metal clinking against one another. I'd started to back and he took it as a defense. He jabbed and I blocked, my foil coming inches from my head. I then twisted out of the block, looking directly at his eyes. He's jabs were blocked, my jabs were blocked, and this went on for a while. I finally jabbed and it struck his chest. He and I were breathing heavily but laughing as embraced, slapping backs. I turned to Arthur, "That'll be 30 coins," Stretching my hand out.
"You did prove me wrong," Arthur handed me the money. He then walked out.
"Why does he never stay?" I asked, "He always shows up when we duel and then leaves. It's like he just wants the match to happen."
"He probably just hates that you try goad me into these," Matt said, "Not that I mind of course. You're just worrying aboot nothing."
"Maybe I am," I sat down and set the foils back in their place, "But I'm a week away from becoming the boss, the big shot, the most important. Somehow it's like more stressful now more then ever."
"You've got this," Matt plopped onto the couch, "You know more about how to run this kingdom than even Dad does. You can't chicken out now."
"I don't know," I leaned back, "Maybe Wang is right."
"Who are you and what have you done my sister?" Matt looked concerned, "My sister has wanted to be in control of her kingdom since she was kid, who literally walked around the kingdom to make sure she knew everybody's problems, who was up until midnight worrying she wasn't gonna be able to give a message to the people because she thought she was too loud. I'm not aboot to hear something aboot Wang being right that I'll be the better king then you Amelia."
"Perhaps you're right but I mean," I said, "He's right about something."
"What?" Matt looked at me with a concerned look his eye, like he was gonna have to explain it again.
"I've gotta be absolutely insane to do what I do," I said, face smirking.
"I'll give ya that one, sis," He grinned, "I'll give ya that one."
