It's All About the Love

Chapter 3

Charlotte headed upstairs and packed her stuff into a small suitcase. She trailed it down the stairs and when we reached the bottom she saw her father Richard and her brother Sam come through the front door. Her father looked into her eyes and mouthed "Was this him?"

Her eyes filled with tears and she felt a lump in her throat, she wiped away her tears and nodded.

She left the house the put the case in Jeanette's car, her father and brother followed. They asked her what happened and she told them she couldn't say. Jeanette got in the car and the drove to her house. When she arrived at the house she told Jeanette the truth and she was furious. Two days had passed and Neil was drinking himself to death. He received a letter in the post, it was typed in large bold writing reading "YOU DON'T DESERVE HER, YOU WILL PAY", he tore it apart and threw it on the fire along with a splash of whiskey. Charlotte had spent 4 days without talking to or seeing Neil and she wanted to keep it up, but she realised she had left her bank card in the drawer in the bedroom. She borrowed Jeanette's car and drove to the house, she banged on the door but there was no answer. She climbed over the back fence and clambered through the kitchen window. She walked through the kitchen and into the living room. She could see blood on the carpet but she could have sworn Neil cleaned it all. She turned around the see Neil's body lying on the floor in a pool of blood. As she approached his body she could see a large blade sticking out of his throat, his throat and been split open.
