It's been a week since I was rescued from Jonathan and that traveling hell of a house. A week since I've been back at the Institute. No one lets me have a minute alone. Jace now sleeps with me every night. This I normally wouldn't mind, if it only stopped there. They're all smothering me. I mean, yes I get it, they thought I was dead. Simon and Jace both had guilt over it. I'd be overprotect too.

Simon.

I haven't seen him since I came back. I've been trying to reach him with no luck. Izzy says getting the Mark of Cain removed took a lot out of him. I wouldn't know, I haven't seen him. No one wants to let me out and it's starting to piss me off. I'm done asking. I am not a prisoner.

Not anymore.

I got dressed and headed out.

"Clary?"

I stopped just feet from the door.

So close.

When I turned to him he was already standing in front of me. "Yes?"

"You going somewhere?"

"Yeah, to see Simon."

"Clary, Simon is a bit out of it still."

"Actually I just spoke to Izzy and she says he's much better now. Got a fix of blood."

"He's probably kind of tired still—

"I'm going." I snapped unintentionally. "I know we're still working on me getting cleared with the Clave but—

"Exactly, you're technically still a fugitive."

"They know I'm alive. Nothings happen yet."

"Let's keep it that way."

I sucked in a breath, "You do realize you, Izzy, and Alec can't keep me locked in here forever, right? If I want to go... I'll find a way."

He reluctantly sighs, "Okay, just let me get my gear."

As soon as he's out of view, I slip out the door.

I knocked on Simon's door to see his roommate Kyle or Jordan or whatever he calls himself.

"Simon up?"

"Umm, yeah he is. I—thought you were on lock down at the Institute?"

I tensed, "Who told you that?"

"Isabelle?"

"Is she here?"

"Isabelle? No."

"Good." I mumbled.

"Clary?"

Simon appeared behind Jordan, looking weak and fragile.

"Simon!" I ran past Jordan and into Simon's arms. He hugged me tightly, with dear life.

"You have no idea how happy I am to see you! When Izzy told me you were alive, I—I wanted to see you right away. But of course, I was too weak to move then and you couldn't leave."

The more I hear that phrase, the more angrier I become. I couldn't leave?!?

"Well, I'm here now. How are you since you've gotten the mark removed?"

"I feel better today. I've been a bit out of it though. I'm so glad you're okay." He hugs me and again and I smile.

"Right back at ya."

"I'm going to go run to the store. I'll be right back."
Jordan grabs his jacket before he walks out.

"I thought he was leaving?"
