chapter two

after a few minutes of running, we came across a building. it was larger than all the others and had an umbrella symbol on the door. he signaled for me to come inside, which i did.

my eyes scanned across the building. it was like a mansion. my eyes then landed on the boy.

"what's your name anyway?" i questioned.

"my name's y/n." i said.

the boy nodded.

"five." he seemed embarrassed about it since he broke eye contact and looked at the floor.

"like the number?" i tilted my head in confusion.

"like the number." five sighed

"listen," five started pacing around the room.

"you cannot tell anyone what you just saw." five said while pacing.

"i'm just confused on what happened... who were those guys? why did you kill them? are they after you? do you work for them?" my head was spinning with questions.

"well, i'm afraid i can't answer any of those questions." he scoffed.

"why'd you bring me here anyway?" i looked up at him.

it looked like he was thinking for a while before he responded. then it's like a lightbulb went off. he told me to stay put as he went upstairs.

as five was upstairs i looked around the place. everything was nicely in order. then i came across a painting. there were six kids and an older man. they all had masks on. i spotted five in the picture and looked at it. i turned around to see five with an older looking girl. her hair was very curly and was a bit taller than five.

"hi..." i said.

"hi, i'm allison." allison smiled.

"you don't need to introduce yourself. she's going to forget everything once you do your power." five stated.

"power..?" my eyes widened.

five tried to calmly walk over to me. i was terrified. what was going to happen? was i going to get hypnotized? they have powers?

"d-don't come any closer." i said as i backed away.

i felt my heartbeat getting faster and faster. then i got this feeling inside me. the same feeling i got earlier. but it was a lot stronger than that.

"don't make this harder than it has to be." allison said.

five teleported behind me and got a grip around me.
it felt like my heart was going to pop out of my chest.
i was struggling to escape. allison started saying her sentence.

"i heard a rumor.." she whispered.

"no!" i yelled.

suddenly i got filled with this feeling. i finally managed to escape from five's grip. i felt everything around me get pushed away. when i opened my eyes allison and five were on the other side of the room, on the floor. like they've been blown away. i saw an clear force field around me. my heartbeat got slower and slower until it was at its normal speed.

five stood up from the floor.

"holy shit." five said under his breath.

"you have powers."
