A Year Later

(Disclaimer: I wrote a book called Swap which is the prequel to this story, so whenever I refer to the characters history or 'swap' it's towards the first book so please read that first)

About a year has passed since the swap had ended meaning each pair has been with each other for over year

Average age: 26-27

Not much has changed for Sean and Bailey

Still together still love one another just enjoying life with each other

Sean Bailey and Josh's Apartment

"Sean, hurry up or you're going to be late again!" Bailey called out from the kitchen

"I have time!" Sean said as he emerged from the bedroom in his work attire

"Well this time you need to eat," Bailey said sitting him down at the table with breakfast ready "Not a good look for a chef to look like he hasn't eaten"

"Fair point," Sean said as he grabbed a strip of bacon "Why aren't you joining me? And where's Josh?"

"I ate with Josh an hour ago, and he's getting ready for his job now," Bailey said pointing to Josh with his clothes on and about to leave for the day

"See you both later," Josh said as he gathered his things, keys, wallet etc... and leaves

"Bye!" Bailey said to him as Sean waved as he had food in his mouth

Sean and Bailey still lived in Sean's old apartment which Sean had shared with Josh and Julian before his relationship with Kaycee

Julian, however, moved out to be with his girlfriend Chloe a while ago and Josh was currently still living there as he didn't ask for Sean to move back in with a girlfriend permanently

"Are you going to get home at a decent hour?" Bailey asked Sean

"Hopefully, you know this restaurant business is not easy," Sean said

"I know but it feels like you get home at 9 pm or later now," Bailey said as Sean thought to himself "But I know you love your job and I'm happy when you're happy"

"Thanks, babe," Sean said as he kissed her with his grease-covered lips earning an 'ew' "But yeah today should be simple since I trained the new guy already"

"Good because I have a surprise for when you get back" Bailey whispered to him which made Sean's ears perk up

"Best news I'm going to hear all day," Sean said

Meanwhile

Kaycee and Kenneth's Apartment

"Kayc! Where's my necklace?!" Kenneth called out from the living room

"On your neck!" Kaycee said from the bathroom

"Thank you!" Kenneth thanked his fiancée

Yeah during their swap Kenneth learned that marriage was very important to Kaycee so he proposed about a few months ago, which Kaycee eagerly said yes

Most people thought they were going fast but Kaycee had wanted to get married to Sean way early on so the fact it took a year with Kenneth made sense as the swap already got them out of the getting used to each other phase
