Karl's pov
It's been two years since I and dad left California and decided to settle in Melbourne, I won't count myself as a piece of shit but that doesn't mean thyhat am lucky; I was the only child and my mom was a complete ass, she was a drug addict but dad loved her so much even after all the insults. In school I was doing well in all aspects I was very intelligent but the only problem I had in school was my fellow students, they were all bullies none if them liked me for anything I was more of a sadist, my dad was my strength while mum was my weak point. My dad was my best friend he was also my best man, I have always thought of how my life will be with a sane mother.
One Saturday while I sat near my room window, looking at the beauty of the city, she came back, I stepped out to know what she was saying, my eyes grew bigger I have never seen her in that state she looked like a fucked up mad woman then she caught my eyes and I held her gaze for 2 seconds and boom she started off after me I was fast enough to lock my self in, I could remember her exact words
"Karl darling it's mommy c'mon out please"
she said it so sweetly I thought she was herself then as expected her voice rose
"Karl I will so beat u if u don't move your pretty lonely ass out here, you are sooo worthless and it will do both of us good if I trade you for some drugs"
My heart sank I couldn't say anything I couldn't even feel my pulse. I didn't know when a sob escaped my lips and I started crying, that was when dad came and shits went down things I didn't know started flying about, then I heard my name,
It was dad as soon as I came out he carried me like a new baby went to his too grabbed his ATM and we sped off, and here I am in another world all together, I was now 17 and in the 6th grade, can't wait to go to college, my phone started ringing snapping me out of my thoughts that was Nessa my best friend
"Hey K"
"Hi" I greet her back
"It's Sean's birthday tomorrow....... don't know if your big man will let you out" partying was now my thing since I left California,
"I'll convince him cos I will most definitely like to be there" we talked about the time and if she will come over then she hung up.
"Hey princess dinner is ready, I'm waiting!!" that was actually dad's voice, I get up look at my self in my gull length mirror grab my phone and hurried downstairs.
"Hey dad what's up" he just looks at me and I see the small smile that curls up his lips.
"Baby girl, shush and grab a plate" so we were having pancakes and tea.
After eating I clear and wash up the dishes just as am about to leave the kitchen I hear a buzz and that was coming from my phone, I opened it and it was a twitter message from Liam, my eyes widened and my heart skipped twice,
'Hi ummmm, will u show up in Sean's party? I am seriously looking forward to seeing you'
I read it over and over and over again, I was definitely going to convince dad.
Dad is on the couch and looking at his phone with all seriousness I'm sure he is playing a game, I come and sit down next to him and interwine my fingers together
"Karl, want to say something?" He asks, his eyes never leaving his phone,
"Umdadiwasthinkingofgoingouttommorownighttoapartywithmyfriendiwontgoaloneiwillbeokay" I say and let out a breath.
"Pumpkin head when you are ready to talk to me, let me know"
"Okay okay dad am ready, dad there is this party that u want to really go to, please don't say no" he looks at me like though he is studying me then he slurs
"My pretty angel, you know I'll always allow you go out why is this one different is there anything special about it" he quirks his eyebrow, challenging me to say what I want
"Well dad it's my friends party and it's kinda an all night thing" I say with my fingers crossed, he continues staring at me wanting me to say more
" and umm dad there is this guy am really crushing on" I say an fall back on the couch allowing my back to feel the comfy of the couch "dad he asked me to come, and I want to really go". I kinda whispered the last part not even sure he heard it.
"Sweetheart I love you so much, do you know that?"
"Yes dad I know, and I love you as much jst let me go pleaaeeeee" I plead like though I'm begging him for my dear life.
"Karl just be good, us that sooo much to ask?" Wait is that some kind of approval.
"I will be good dad no funny stuffs" I say with a conner smile, and hug him sooooo tight " I love you dad"
