Author's note:
Above is a similar picture of Julia's tattoo. Yes, it's a henna design. Deal with it. 😅
______________________________________Driving home in my convertible, I thought back to the events that unfold today.
I rubbed the marking on my hand which was gradually making its way up to my shoulder. Though it was freaking me out, I was kind of fascinated by it.
The marking showed different types of spirals, each appeared in different varieties of colours.
Packing in my driveway I saw Eric in my peripheral vision. Just the person I need to see.
“Hey neighbour.” I said to him giving him a smile and a small wave. He stopped whatever he was doing and turned around to face me.
“What?” he answered harshly.
Great. Back to his former ways.
“Umm, I – I ummmm. I think you were the one who saved - I mean helped me today. I don’t know. I couldn’t see you clearly, but I recognized your voice -”
“You’re welcome.” Eric said with an arrogant look on his face.
I didn’t even say I was grateful, although that was what I came over to say.
“Umm, yeah.” I mumbled.
Eric stood there as if waiting for me to say something else.
“What was it that you gave me?” I questioned.
______________________________________Eric’s P.O.V.
I saw Julia as she approached me. I knew why she came.
“What was it that you gave me?” she questioned. Was I going to tell her what I gave her?
No.
“Something to ease the pain.” I answered while leaning on the front porch column with my arms crossed. I watched her as she examined my protruding biceps.
“Well duh. But what was it. It wasn’t – it wasn’t ordinary medicine.” She stated.
That’s it.
I walked away from her towards the backyard. She can’t possibly believe I was going to tell her what I used to save her. She’ll freak, considering that she doesn’t even know what she is.
“Hey.” Julia yelled. She grabbed my forearm firmly. I had to refrain myself from attacking her.
Instincts.
“You’re always walking away from me. What the hell have I ever done to you? We don’t even know each other and I'm -”
“Your right. We don’t.” I replied bleakly while turning to face her. I towered easily over her considered that she was approximately 5’3 in height, while I was 5'9.
“But I want to know you. I want to know what you gave me, why all of a sudden my body has been changing since your arrival, and why – why that guy who came to your house the other night had fangs.”
I froze.
Julia rambled on but I couldn't decipher her words.
It can’t be. Can it?
I’ve been found.
“Come with me.” I told her.
