Saturday had finally rolled around and I still have managed to get by with not spilling a word about the concert in any way. I had my concert tickets and I was keeping them hidden away from my parents. I was very glad that my parents didn’t decide to go looking through my drawers. That’s where they would have found my concert ticket. I was now getting ready for the concert, well party in my parents case. My mom and dad were going to drop Hunter off at his little kid party and I was supposed to be going to Riley’s. I found her address online and I was just planning on driving there, taking a picture of the party and sending it to my mom that way she knew I was “there.” Mainly just in spirit.
I was getting really fired up for this whole concert. I couldn’t believe that I was going to get to see Elijah Jennings live for the first time! In my mind I hoped that the boy would stay longer than a week here and that I could randomly find him and well, I don’t really know. I haven’t exactly thought that far ahead of what I would say to the boy if I ever had the opportunity to be standing next to him. I could talk to boys like Brandon Rivera who was extremely annoying but I wasn’t quite sure how I’d react in front of a celebrity. The only thing I hope I wouldn’t do is be one of those girls who fainted when they saw them or would just burst out into tears. I never quite understood why girls did that when they would meet a celebrity. I mean I get the fact that they’re happy and all but crying in front of their idol? I just don’t see that happening with me.
After about two hours of looking through my clothing I finally found something that I wanted to wear. Thank goodness I had already decided to shower; otherwise I’d be close to running late. I pulled on a pair of jeans along with a nice blue top that made the color of my eyes pop out more. Once I was finally dressed I went over to the sink that I had in my room. In our house mine and Hunter’s bathroom was a Jack and Jill bathroom so we had our own sinks. I started applying my make-up wanting to look perfect. A few minutes later I decided that I was finished with everything that I needed. My hair was curled at the bottom just a bit and my make-up was on point so now I was just ready to get into the car and drive off to the concert.
I grabbed my purse, ticket, and phone. I placed the ticket in my wallet so it wouldn’t fall out of my purse and then I placed my phone into my pocket. I hurried down stairs and told my parents that I was heading to the party. They nodded and wished for me to have fun, now I knew for a fact that I would have a lot of fun. I got into my vehicle and placed the key into the ignition starting up the car. As I waited for the cool air to come through the air vents I let Elijah’s music play through the radio. Once it was cooler in the car I made my way out of the drive way and started to drive to Riley’s house. I had to stalk her address from the computer. It’s a good thing that her dad is rich so her address is easy enough to find online.
Once I arrived at my destination, I left my purse in the car and locked it so no one would go grabbing my ticket. I didn’t need that to happen after how long I’ve been waiting for this. I made my way into the house and took a picture of the party that was already going on and I made sure that I went unseen. After I was finished I walked out of Riley’s house and sent a text to my mom with the picture attached of the party. She immediately texted me back telling me to have a good time and that they wouldn’t wait up for me. Well, that was good to know, I can’t believe I was going to get away with this entire thing. I got back into the car and placed the key into the ignition again, once the car started back up I smiled and started to head for the concert.
I was lucky enough to not get stuck in any traffic but I was still running a bit late. After I finally found a place to park I pulled in and parked my car. I grabbed my phone and purse and then locked up my car before I started to sprint to the arena. As I was running there was a point where I wasn’t paying attention to what was in front of me and my body collided hard with another. I fell back and landing on my butt and started rubbing my head.
“Ouch.” I said while looking down to find where my purse had dropped.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry! I swear I didn’t mean to run into you. Are you okay?” A voice asked as I was handed my purse in the process.
“You’re fine. I should’ve been looking where I was going.” I told the boy I finally looked up and my mouth dropped as I saw who was standing in front of me.
“Well, I’m still sorry anyways. I’d say that I’d make it up too you but I kind of have to get going.” The boy said as he held his hand out to me. I gladly took it and let him help me up.
I felt like speaking again but once I was up on my feet again I just couldn’t seem to get the words out of my mouth. He said he had to get going but he still hadn’t moved himself and he seemed to be waiting to see what I had to say to him. The shock that he was right there in front of me was just too much for me to handle at once and I was still having trouble getting my mouth to function correctly.
“Are you okay?” He asked staring at me with those chocolate eyes of his.
“I-… You’re him! You’re Elijah Jennings.” I finally said out loud but not screaming it like some fans would do.
“I’m aware.” Elijah said with a chuckle as he smiled at me. “I’m guessing you’re a fan of me? Otherwise you wouldn’t have taken so long to answer me.”
“I’m a really big fan! I’m supposed to be at a party right now but I snuck here instead because I won tickets to your show.”
“Wow, I’m definitely flattered about that. What’s your name?” Elijah asked me.
“Sophia.” I told him a bit more confidently than the first time I spoke to the boy.
“I hope you’ll enjoy my concert Sophia. I’ve got to go and start getting ready. It was nice to meet you.” He said as he stuck his hand out for me to shake. I placed my hand into his own and took a hold of it shaking it back and forth until he let go. Elijah gave me one last smile before taking off and disappearing into one of the rooms in the arena.
I stood there unmoving after the moment that just happened. I Sophia had just met the one person in the world that I wanted to meet for forever and I was stupid enough not to even ask him for a quick picture. I mentally slapped myself in the face for that. Honestly, how could I be so stupid? That was probably my one chance on seeing him and I blew it. I made a down right fool of myself. I just wanted to crawl into my room and never come out to the daylight again. After about five minutes of just looking at the door where he snuck into I sighed and made my way to the line where we had to hand in our tickets.
Girls were everywhere. I didn’t realize how popular Elijah had actually become over the years. I remember finding him on Youtube for the first time. He was sixteen at the time and was just starting music, he hadn’t even started playing in guitar in his videos he just sang covers to popular songs on the radio. Let me tell you they were perfect and that was the moment I fell in love with him and his music. I know for a fact that it’s rather cliché for me to say that I fell in love with him because in reality I had really only talked to him for two minutes. Maybe not even that long, but after I watched his videos he had such a strong voice and he was just able to move me. His voice and songs spoke to me and I could never thank him enough for that.
It was now my turn to hand the man my ticket as I handed him my ticket he placed a bracelet on me so I could enter the venue. I smiled and thanked him before walking inside to the concert. I was on the floor; everyone pretty much had floor seats. It wasn’t that big of an arena and I wanted to try to get to the front of the line. This was something that seemed the most difficult thing to do unfortunately. These girls were a lot worse than I thought, once we were able to get inside the venue they started pushing and shoving their way to the front of the stage and I ended up falling to the ground as they pushed their way past me. I tried my best not to get trampled on in the process but it was quite hard considering someone stepped on my back and I was pushed into the floor. I grunted and worked on getting up so that I wouldn’t be walked on any more.
Getting up was the hard part. Girls were still pouring into the venue and I wished I hadn’t been in the front now. Finally, I felt someone grab onto my arm and pull me up from the floor. I looked up to see a security guard had helped me up from the mess of girls. I thanked him and made my way inside. As soon as I walked in I saw that the stage was all set up. Elijah wasn’t supposed to have an opening act because he’s not exactly as famous as some other bands are and this was his first time to ever be on stage. I knew for a fact he had to be nervous. Especially with all these girls here, I found a place to stand and I was going to be able to see him perfectly. I couldn’t wait for him to start his show.
