I spent the rest of the night trying to convince my parents that I needed to go to this concert. Elijah’s second concert was going to be here and surprisingly that was already this weekend on Saturday. The only problem with that was that my mom was still forcing me to go to Riley’s party that night that I didn’t care about going too. But I lost my battle with her and she still said I had to go and couldn’t go see Elijah play. How could she just do this to me? I sighed and pulled up ticket master anyways. As I looked up the tickets for places in Kentucky, it was surprisingly for once in our hometown. Concerts were never held in our hometown because of how small we are.
I had a plan to get these tickets. I would tell my mom that I’m going to Riley’s party. I think I could easily find a party going around here. There wasn’t much going on around this town because this place was honestly boring. But that actually helped me a lot in this scenario I had come up with. I could buy the tickets and then I could take a picture at Riley’s party send it to my mom and then make my way to the concert. I could make better friends there than I would at Riley’s stupid party any way. So it’s an actual win-win situation as I would like to call it.
I looked for seating in the front row at our concert and my mouth dropped at how expensive they were. They were four hundred dollars to see Elijah Jennings front row? Okay, Elijah I love you and all but I don’t have that kind of money that I could spend that was my own since I don’t have a job. Why couldn’t he just make them cheaper for us poorer fans? I sighed and looked for the next best tickets that weren’t on the floor but they were in the section above. These tickets were a bit more reasonable and were one hundred dollars but I still didn’t know if I could afford that even. Our house didn’t even have three stories we only had two, the first floor, and then the upstairs where my brother and I stayed; while my parents took the master bedroom on the first floor. Yeah it was kind of a weird little situation and I don’t know why the people who built this place made it this way in the first place. I decided to go on Elijah’s fan site again and see if there are any chances to win tickets even though the odds of me winning are one in a million.
@elijahofficial: Have you bought tickets yet? They’re selling out quickly so you may want to hurry up! Or you could check out our contest down below!
@elijahfan101: Yes I bought my tickets! But now I wish I would have waited for that contest!
I scrolled down the page more and saw the contest. For this contest you had to be the ninth caller to win tickets to see his concert for Kentucky. I couldn’t help but smile. This contest was happening today in thirty minutes so I grabbed my cell phone and waited until the time hit to be five o’ clock. I started scrolling through pictures of Elijah’s newest photos to pass the time.
Soon enough it was five in the afternoon and I quickly grabbed my phone and dialed the radio station. The phone rang once, a second time, and then again and I got through! I can’t believe that I was able to get through!
“Hello, who is calling?” They asked.
“Sophia Daniels.” I told them.
“Well, Sophia you just so happened to be our ninth caller!”
“Really oh wow I can’t believe it!” I screamed but still tried to stay quiet so my parents couldn’t hear me.
“Yes really, all you have to do is come by the radio station here in town tomorrow show your ID that you are who you say you are, and then you can get your ticket.”
“Awesome! I’ll be there in the afternoon thank you so much!”
I hung up the phone and then got out of my chair as I jumped up and down. I was going to see Elijah Jennings in concert this Saturday! How could anyone not be happy about that? I still was pretty shocked that I actually won the tickets. Nothing ever good ever happened to me and now something super exciting finally has. Thank you to the planet for finally doing something nice for me. I needed this, considering my parents wouldn’t buy the ticket for me.
I couldn’t wait for tomorrow. I was going to go to the radio station early in the morning and then I was going to go to school. All I had to do after that is go to school on Friday and then I had the concert the next day. What if I actually met Elijah? If that did happen it would totally be a dream come true! I just hated that now I had to wait a day and a half before the concert was even going to be here in the first place. It always seemed that when I was really excited about something that I would have to wait for it the longest. The one thing I couldn’t do was tell my parents what I had done. It would just ruin everything and they would tell me I couldn’t go.
“Sophia, it’s time for dinner!” My mom called.
Oh great, another dinner with the family. Where my brother could annoy me and do anything he wants but still gets away with. That annoyed me so much about this family. It almost seemed as if I was invisible to my parents. Sure, they acknowledged my presence but they acknowledged Hunter way more than they did me. One time they went on a vacation and forgot about me. They didn’t even come back for me or anything. I came home from school and no one was home so I called my parents up and found out they had gone without me. Why can’t someone just notice me for once without wanting to humiliate me more than people already do?
I closed my laptop down before heading downstairs to the kitchen. I walked over to the refrigerator and grabbed myself Mt. Dew. Opening up the bottle cap I walked over to my normal seat and sat down at the table. For dinner we were having homemade pizza which was always one of my favorite meals. No mash potatoes for my brother to toss on me at least. We grabbed each other’s hands and prayed over our meal before we began to eat.
“So how was school today?” My mom asked me.
I rolled my eyes and looked over at her, “Same as it always is mom. It’s always the same: meaning boring!”
“Fine I was just asking. How about you Hunter? How was school for you?”
“Good. I got invited to this boy/girl party by my friend. Can I go?” Hunter asked.
“I don’t see why not. When is it?” My dad asked.
“It’s on Saturday. Probably about the same time Sophia has her party.” Hunter told them.
“Well, it looks like we’ll be having the house to ourselves that night Mrs. Daniels.” My dad said as he leaned over and kissed my mom.
“Gross, no public display of affection at the table dad.” I said as I scrunched up my nose watching them.
“We can do whatever we want Sophia.” My dad told me before kissing my mom again just to annoy me.
I scrunched my nose up again and bit into my pizza. That was until I felt a piece of pepperoni from the pizza on the side of my face. Not to mention that it was covered in red sauce. Seriously, did Hunter really just have to throw another piece of food on me? I glared at him before taking my own pepperoni off the part of the pizza and placing it onto my brothers’ face. I wanted one meal to where I could actually eat in paece but it didn’t seem like that would ever happen with Hunter around.
“Sophia!” My mom scolded.
“YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!” I yelled as I slammed my plate down on the table and excused myself from the table.
I hurried up to my room and slammed the door behind me. I wished I had a lock on my door so I could just lock them out when I didn’t want my parents to come into talk to me. I just wanted to be alone from them; from everyone in this world really.
Maybe I shouldn’t have yelled at my mom but honestly did they really not see Hunter put the food on me first? He gets away with everything and I’m the one who gets blamed for whatever thing he messes up on. Hunter could probably mess up in school and get an F on a test and my parents would tell me it was my fault for not letting him study when he really did that on his own. I really didn’t understand my parent’s logic with this. I still had to make sure I didn’t do anything to drastic to where they wouldn’t let me go out on Saturday night. I knew that if I really was punished for this that it would be me having to go to Riley’s party, since I told them that I didn’t want to go in the first place but I would just have to take some pictures and send it to them, then I would head off to see Elijah in concert.
