Her heart sunk as soon as Ruby opened her parasol, causing her to be harshly yanked off the airship.
"Neo!"
She turned her head to see Roman reaching out for her as she was carelessly thrown into the Grimm filled sky.
-The mute woman awoke with a jolt, her eyes snapping open to show pure white irises. Neo sat up, looking around quietly before giving a silent sigh. No matter how much she wanted to, the ice cream coloured woman could not get out of bed. Why should she?! ...there was nothing left...
Laying back on the dirty mattress, Neo covered her mouth to prevent sobs from escaping as she remembered what happened.
'Roman..' She thought, hiding her face in the tattered old sheet. She laid there for a moment, sobbing as if that would fix everything. After about ten minutes of silent crying, she rolled over and looked at the hat resting on her jacket to prevent it from getting dirty.
Suddenly, Neo slowly sat up again and turned to get off the mattress. It felt like freezing cold hands were placed on her back and pushing her to get up. Near instantly, Neo felt like retaliating, asking why she should get up.
'He wouldn't want this.'
The thought flooded into her head, as if someone had whispered it into her ear. It made her self deprecating thoughts vanish for a moment, but that moment was the best one she had ever since... The Fall.
Cringing at the sound of her bones cracking, Neo stood up. She slowly limped over to her clothing, the ice cream themed criminal gingerly picked them up and put them on. She hissed a couple times as the clothing was pressed on her crudely bandaged wounds, but the physical pain was hidden by a wave of emotional pain as she put on the hat and picked up the scarf.
For a few minutes, she considered tying the scarf as hard as she could around her neck. But once again, the same feeling of cold hands touching her shoulder stopped her thoughts. She looked over her shoulder to see nothing but shadows.
Giving a frown, she shook her head and tied it loosely despite the thoughts screaming at her to tighten it. She picked up her parasol, that she had no motivation to fix, and started her way up the stairs, her feet heavy and sore. Once she reached the metal hatch, she unlocked it and carefully pushed it open, the metal groaning in protest.
The moment she stepped out, she was greeted with a warzone. A few stray Grimm were creeping around still, but they didn't mean anything to her. She silently stepped out and slowly closed the hatch that led to the hideout she had been in.
She skillfully hopped over rubble and swerved to avoid debris. When she rounded the corner, she was met with monstrous amounts of fire, still touching what was left of the remains.
Instantly, Neo's monochromatic eyes went white again as she stared into the fire. Letting out a sigh, she repressed her childhood trauma and went around the flames. Her eyes slowly switched back to brown and pink as she reached another area of debris.
Giving a sigh, Neo crouched down and began digging through the pieces that had once been a building. She dug and searched for hours, her eyes lighting up every hour or so at the sight of clothing, but when she pulled it out, it ended up being a lost cause, as it was a normal citizens shirt or something.
She prevented herself from screaming in pain, as her fingers were bruised and scraped nearly to the bone. Her gloves were absolutely destroyed at this point, so they were useless.
Neo began to get up to search through more rubble, but she fell back to her knees. She began to feel hopeless again, and she was also starving, so that didn't help...
The woman looked at her dirtied and bloodied hands as they throbbed and begged her to stop. She ignored the thoughts and reached out for more rubble. When her hands were mere centimeters away, they suddenly froze.
It felt like there was a gentle, but iron grip wrapped around her arms, preventing her from continuing her search. Neo growled softly, pulling against the grip, but it wouldn't budge. Suddenly, as she was pulling, the grip suddenly disappeared causing her to fly backwards, into a pile of sharp rubble.
This time Neo was unable to keep her scream of pain in, catching the attention of some Grimm. She continued to let out raspy cries and whimpers, her voice scraping her throat like razor blades. She had no choice but to grab her parasol and run away from the beasts.
She quickly staggered back to the hideout, only to give a silent gasp. The creatures had tracked down her hide out. Neo quickly felt for his hat and scarf, letting out a sigh of relief as she felt them there. She then looked at saw her scroll in her pocket and parasol in her hand.
With a sigh, she began to walk away from the place she had momentarily called home, but like every other time.
It was taken.
