Me and Miranda headed back to my place while James and Henry headed back to her house. When we reached home, I was greeted by brothers, Cole and Zac, running around playing their game "Super Hero." I then here my stepmom scream,"STOP RUNNING OR YOU'LL FALL AND GET HURT!"
Yep, that's my stepmom for ya. I then felt Miranda grab my wrist and basically drag me across the floor and upstairs to my bedroom. She slammed my door shut and turned to look at me. "Everything good?" I asked. She just sighed and went towards where her bag was and took out her phone again.
"How would you feel about sleeping over at my house?" she said while still looking at her phone.
I just stared at her. "Bro, my parents will never agree to that," I said sadly. My parents were like those people that basically control your whole life from what you wear to how you act.
"Come on, at least try and ask! Aren't we friends?" she said, now looking up from her phone.
I then felt a little guilty. And afraid. After what happened at the park, I wasn't feeling safe or comfortable around her. Then again, she's my friend and I did wanna get away from my obnoxious family. Maybe I should go. She'd never do anything to hurt me.......
Right?
As if on cue, she hugged me tightly and said,
"Please Grace..."
That was the last straw.
"Fine, I'll do it..." I had mumbled.
"Great! Thanks so much!" she said with excitement in her voice.
Little did I know that this would become my biggest regret in my life.
