Before I knew it, I was out on spring break, and I was going to visit the people who never had hurt me. Physically or mentally. My mom and my stepdad.
Both are very nice and make me feel loved and safe.
My flight was at 3 in the morning, but the night before the flight is always the longest night ever in history. Finally, it was 1 am.
I got out of my bed and headed to the kitchen to prepare myself breakfast. As I put bread in the toaster, I saw Cole come downstairs.
"Why're you always excited to see mom? We literally do nothing over there!" he grumbled.
"Exactly." I stated.
He always hated when we went to visit her because he believes she left us when we were babies. I never believed in that shit. She would never abandon us! My mom explained that she had to make a choice. She knew she'd lose to my dad in court.
I snapped out of it when I heard my dad shout, "Lets go kids!"
My heart skipped a beat when I heard those words. I ran straight to the car and hopped in. I couldn't wait to see my mom.

"Grace! Cole! Is that you?"
I turned around to see a pale woman with red and purple hair with a beautiful black dress on with tattoos and piercings.
"MOM!!!" I shouted and ran over towards her to give her a hug. My brother just rolled his eyes.
"I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!" I shouted.
"I missed you too hun!" my mom replied.
I didn't care if people were staring at us or if my brother was annoyed, I was just happy to see my mom.
For the majority of the time we were walking back to her car and even in the car, me and my brother were catching up with my mom on our lives.
We stopped by McDonalds for food and soon, we arrived at our mom's house.
"We're here!" my mom said. I ran straight to the house and flung the door wide open.
"I'm back cats!" I yelled.
To my shock, three cats ran up to me. Mal, Echo, & Gizmo.
All three purred up against my legs. I smiled.
This week was gonna be epic!
Few days rolled by and they were the best days I could ever hoped for. Well, at least to me they were. My brother thought otherwise. It was very torturous to him but I kept reminding him that were here to have fun with our mom. Soon came the one event I've been waiting for ever since we got here.
Girls Night Out!
This is when me and my mom go out to StarBucks in the evening after dinner at get coffee and talk about my secret life problems. You see, my mom is the only person that knows me better than anyone. Including my dad. She knows what songs I like listening to and what type of friends I have. She even knows that I cuss. And she lets me. Well, at least when I'm not around Cole I can.
Anyway, I was getting ready for our night out. I was super excited to do this once again. It may be a tradition that we always do, but I always got hyped up.
"Lets go Grace!"
I grabbed my shoes and ran out of my room.

I ordered a hot chocolate and my mom had ordered a latte. (don't blame me for not getting coffee! I didn't know the true power of StarBuck's at the time!)
I was soon telling my mom all the chaos with my stepmom and my dad sending me to a basketball game without even asking me if I even wanted to play.
"And they're not even gonna come see me play! So what's the point of even going right?"
My mom nodded. "You have a point. Have you tried talking to them?"
I shook my head.
"They won't listen to me. They never do."
She sighed.
"I'm sorry honey that you have to put with this."
"It's ok. I'm used to it."
We sat in silence for about five minutes til our order came. While my mom took a sip of her refreshment, I decided to ask,
"Hey mom, would friends ever...do it?"
She gave me a confused face.
"What do you mean by 'it' hun?"
"You know..."
I made a motion with my finger.
She gave a 'ohh' expression and said,
"It depends on both people. If one doesn't want to, then they shouldn't pressure her into doing something that they don't want to do. Now that be considered rape in my opinion. Why'd you ask?"
"No reason." I mumbled.
She shrugged at went back to sipping her latte.
I then realized what I had to do.
I had to tell her to stop this. Whether she likes it or not.
