After 3 phone calls and 2 short, awkward conversations later, a jet black Honda honked at the exit of the courtyard, almost making me shriek. I quickly stuffed my earbuds into my back pocket along with my phone and ran up to the car, attempting to get to shotgun before Jayce did.

All was well.

Until I heard him yell behind me.

"ERIN! I CALL SHOTGUN YOU SHORT ASS HOE!"

I ignored his outburst and sped up, my hand an inch away from handle as I grinned. Suddenly, I was pulled aside, colliding with what I thought was a hard wall. Instead, I turned to see Jayce's lips turn upward into a mischievous smirk as he opened the door and slid in, giving me the middle finger through the window.

I scrunched my nose in disgust and opened the backseat door, muttering curses under my breath as I sat down.

"Erin!" My arms were pinned to my sides as I was crushed in a hug. I glanced beside me and behold:

Zoey.

"Hey! You're killing me here, Z." I complained, squirming out of the uncomfortable embrace.

"Hey!~" Jayce mimicked my voice from shotgun. I scrunched up my face in disgust.

"How's school going Jay?" Zoey asks teasingly, smiling slightly in his direction, loosing interest in me completely.

hOLD UP.

Is she....

FLIRTING?

I had to refrain myself from gagging at the flirtatious tone Zoey used while leaning forward and fiddling with her hair. I pulled out my earbuds and sneakily plugged them in, attempting to avoid any more revolting romance in the car. I could still hear their conversation however, and was not ashamed to eavesdrop on it at all.

"Its going fine I guess." Jayce replied, running a hand through his hair.

"I bet. There are tons of cute girls at this school, huh?" She muses aloud, giggling slightly.

"Ew." Jayce mimics gagging and choking. Me too man, me too.

"Oh come on, you don't even like one girl?" She pressed, hiding a smile.

"Again, ew."

"Hmm, are you and Erin close now? It seems like it~" She teased, nudging me slightly.

"Disgusting." He stated, shivering dramatically.

"Revolting." I added, eyes still glued to my phone as I scrolled through my playlist. Where are my jams? "I'm simply too good for him."

"She's too short for me." He corrected, glancing in the rearview mirror to mockingly smile at me.

"Mhm," I sang out. "You keep telling yourself that."
