A few minutes later I hear a car pull up into the driveway. I stand up and address my friends.
"That must be them! I'll be back!"
I walk up the stairs to the front door. I open it just as Jeremiah opens the driver's door. Some Enrique Iglesias is playing loudly on his speakers.
"Turn it down, Hernández! You're going to wake the whole neighborhood!"
He turns off his GMC, stepping out and giving me the bird.
"Screw off, Miller!"
Oli jumps out of the seat behind Jeremiah and Jace and Lucas appear from the other side.
"I brought a peace offering."
Jace holds up a case of beers. I'm not a huge fan of the brand, but I'll drink one.
"I have wine coolers downstairs, too."
"Is that where we are hanging? Captive in your basement?"
I roll my eyes dramatically at his comment.
"Yeah, hahaha so funny. I think I just peed myself laughing."
Jace wrinkles his nose.
"Need me to go get you diapers, Dev?"
"Shut up and get downstairs."
He winks as he passes by me.
