Cancer Takes Another One

~ Part 2 ~

Naruto's POV

I was sleeping peacefully on the floor when I was harshly woken up but one of the villagers kicking my across my room and hitting the wall. Even though I was sleeping, I had only been asleep for a half an hour before I was woken. This day is not starting out great, especially because I have the real genin test today.

The villager ran over to me and started beating the crap out of me. Too many punches and kicks to count, and the bruises I got yesterday only got worse.

The man grabbed me by my neck and threw me out the already shattered window, and down the 3 story building. I hit the ground on my back and let out a grunt in discomfort. The villagers surrounding my place had swarmed around me and started bringing out weapons of all sizes. Some were drunk and had sake bottles, and some were shinobi with their kunai and shuriken. Nonetheless they started to cut and burn me where ever there was undamaged skin. After ever cut, alcohol was poured so the wounds wouldn't heal. Someone brought poisons and used those, that was fun. (please notice the hint of sarcasm). Another shinobi did a jutsu that blocked off all connection to Kurama, so that was no help.

Hours went by, and every second was agonising pain. I had to result to biting my lip to keep from screaming, cause that would make everything worse.

Some would throw punches here and there, same with kicks, and some landed on my head. Everything just keeps getting worse, and my migraine isn't helping the situation.

During the whole thing someone, or a few people, carved words on my skin. Anywhere that was free of cuts or bruises. I am going to have to put on a henge from now on I guess.

I was on the brink of passing out when someone called to everyone else, pronouncing he was bored. A few people agreed and the rest eventually left.

~3rd POV~

Naruto sat up and looked around to see he was in an alleyway, and wondering when they dragged him here. He shrugged it off and stood up to go back 'home' and wash up. His apartment was small and cold, but it was enough. He had water and power for the refrigerator. Even though he had hot water, he always found cold water calming, especially after he is done self harming.

When he finally arrived by limping to his room, he let out all the pent up emotions he had. He was so terrified from the second he was kicked to the last bottle that broke on his head. He started to cry and shake as he wondered what he ever did to deserve this awful treatment. He hated being alone, with no one to comfort him. He hated his father for sealing the kyuubi inside him. But he hated himself the most, because he felt like he had done something wrong for people to treat him this way. He felt like it was all his fault. He felt like he deserved every punch and kick that was thrown his way, he knew he didn't but he always felt like he deserves it.

By now Naruto was fully broken, nothing was left of his will to live. He wanted to die, but knew that Kurama would never let him. Naruto was shaking uncontrollably and his breathing was sharp and shaky. Naruto was holding his head and grasping his head in an attempt to calm his migraine. Nothing was working, he was in so much pain he collapsed and blacked out.

He woke again at 5:30 in the morning, feeling something warm against him. He looked up to see a big fox curling itself around Naruto and using it's 9 tails to cover him like a blanket. He instantly knew it was Kurama and enjoyed the warm feeling. He was going to fall asleep again when he noticed something else. His body was bandaged and his head felt a little better. He looked at Kurama's face again to see he was already awake and waiting for his kit to give him questions to answer. Naruto smiled at Kura and he smiled back.

"Thanks Kura." Naruto said in a soft voice.

"No problem Kit."

"Kura could you explain why I have bandages and my head feels better?"

"Of course Kit. You see, after about a half an hour of you passing out I was released from the jutsu the shinobi placed. So I did what all father-figures do, help their son. I got out of your mind in my human form to put on your bandages and emit healing chakra to your head to soothe your migraine. After I went into fox form to keep you company and warm." Naruto was not surprised at Kurama's actions, because he had done these things before, and always felt safe afterwards. Naruto snuggled closer to Kurama as a way of saying thanks to the old fox.

A few minutes later he got up and went to go change and wash for the test. Kurama helped with his injuries and the henge to make sure nothing was noticeable. Kurama then went back into Naruto's mind to so he could go and get to the training ground early.

Naruto arrived his a swirl of fire and saw no one was there so took it upon himself to train his affinities. He created clones to work on different things and worked on the elements himself. He trained with the mokuton and katon to start with and focused on using them for fighting. He stood in a fighting stance and powered chakra threw his hands and feet to release the fire. He would shoot it out of his chakra points and breath it out too. He then focused on the mokuton where he closed his eyes and let his chakra blend into the life around him. He could use this technique very well and used it in fighting frequently with his eyes closed. Opening his eyes he would attack by moving his arms to trap or attack his opponent, which was his clone (btw).

Next he worked on suiton, doton, raiton, Hyōton, Fūton, while also practicing taijutsu to mix with these techniques.

He stops abruptly when he senses Sakura's chakra signature. He hid his own and sunk into the ground using mokuton.

A few minutes pass and Sasuke comes strolling down the path with his hands in his pockets and a frown on his face when he sees Sakura is the only one there. She goes running up to him and tackles him. His face explains how uncomfortable he is. Naruto deems this a good time to jump down from the tree and lands next to Sasuke with an emotionless face.

"Sakura that's pretty gross, and I don't know if Teme likes that." Naruto says unsuringly. He has a weirded out and confused look plastered on his face, which looked absolutely adorable to Sasuke.

"Who asked for your opinion?" she said rudely and punched him in the face. Already being punched (a lot) this morning, Naruto got up with a stoic face and brushed off the dirt on his disgusting orange clothes. He walked over to where he was previously standing like nothing happened, and started the conversation again.

"So Teme, do you feel comfortable with that leach on you?" Sakura was gonna punch Naruto again but Sasuke glared at her to not touch him. Sasuke didn't respond just stared at him in (masked) amazement, but finally answered with,

"Sakura for the last time, get the fuck off me!" he said irritated, she raised her hand and opened her mouth to say something but Sasuke cut her off.

"And no I do not want to go on a date with you!" he said again. Sakura closed her mouth and stomped over to a tree.

Naruto gave a sigh of relief for not having to deal with the awful banshee. Holding his head again and rubbing circles on his temple to soothe the pain once again, Naruto felt his migraine returning from its short sleep. He let out an annoyed sigh and walked to the bridge and sat on the railing. Sasuke following without comment.

"You okay dobe?" Sasuke asked emotionlessly, but inside he felt concern for his blonde friend.

"Ugh, yea. Just headaches, don't worry teme!" Naruto said in his 'cheerful' voice of his again. Although Sasuke felt as if the blue eyed genin was hiding something.

"You get headaches a lot, Dobe?"

"Yea, but it's fine." this time Naruto didn't smile, but he looked like he was staring off into nothing. He looked tired.

Yeah, so sorry for not updating. I just don't feel very confident in this work. I have good ideas, just feels like it's going to waste since not many people seem interested in reading this. oh well. I will keep updating when ever I feel like it. sorry to disapoint anyone who is actually reading this and wants me to update more often. BYE!!!
