"Bye mom, see you after school," I shouted as I walked up the front porch of the Thunderman house. My mom honked at me and pulled out of the driveway to drive back home. I watched her drive away before I opened the front door of the Thunderman house. I threw my backpack on the couch and walked into the kitchen to find Barb and Nora. "Good morning Thunderman family."
"Wow, Mia, you seem like your in a good mood," Barb said with a smile.
"Yeah, I am actually. Which is a great change from the past few days," I sighed out.
"Yeah, you've been acting weird ever since dinner the other night. Did something bother you from that night," Barb questioned me with concern.
Yes, but I'm not going to tell her that. Only two people know about my crush on Max: Phoebe and my mom. That's two people too many! No more people need to know.
"I was a little bothered by something before, but I am over it and I am ignoring it. It is a new week for me. It's going to be great and it's going to stay that way," I sighed out.
"Okay, if you're sure. How about I make you some pancakes to start off your amazing week," She questioned me.
"Yes, please," I sighed as I slid into one of the seats at their bar.
I looked over to see Nora pouring her cereal and watched something drop out of the box into her bowl. I saw her face light up and smiled when I saw the pure joy she got just from getting a prize from the cereal box.
"Yay, I got the prize," She shouted out with joy.
At this time Billy came running down the stairs and up to Nora with his super speed. He quickly snatched the prize out of her hands and held it in his own with a smile. "You snooze you loose."
Nora got angry and used her laser vision on Billy's hand. Billy yelled in pain and dropped the prize on the table, causing Nora to smile again and pick it up and show it to him mockingly. "You take, you bake."
Barb decided she had enough and walked over to the two of them, grabbing the prize from Nora's hands. She shouted in protest and looked at her mom in shock as she held it. Billy looked at their mom in shock as Barb held it up to them. "Zap your brother, prize goes to mother." Billy and Nora looked down in disappointment as Barb walked back over to me and held it up to show me. I looked and saw it was some kind of ring and chuckled as I shook my head. "Sweet. I always wanted a glow-in-the-dark... whatever this is."
I chuckled at her and pointed at her. "Hey, you should feel lucky. That will go with basically any outfit you wear."
She chuckled at me in amusement as she put the ring where Billy and Nora couldn't get it before coming back and flipping my pancakes. Hank then walked in from the back door and looked like a mixture of shocked and angry.
"Unbelievable. This is the sixth day in a row my newspaper's missing," Hank complained.
