Veronica patted the spot next to her excepting to find Fangs, but instead all she found was, cold, wrinkly sheets. She quickly sat up, thoughts jumping into her brain.
Oh my god. I knew he didn't love me. Everyone always leaves me, no wonder he did too. I'm not good enough. I'm to needy, god this is all my fault. Oh no what if he's hurt.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the bedroom door opening and Fangs walking in. She let out a sigh of relief.
"What's wrong, baby?" He cocked an eyebrow curious to what has her worried. She immediately felt better, just at the use of a nickname. She laid back down before responding.
"Um, nothing. Where are you going?" noticing he was changing and packing a backpack.
"Emergency Serpent business. I'll be back in a few days. "
The worry returned. They was nothing Veronica hated more than being alone. She didn't know what it was but ever since her parents went on their first business meeting, when she was younger, she hated it.
He must of noticed the concern written on her face, because he sat down next to her tucking a stray piece of hair back behind her ear.
"Hey, babygirl, it's okay. I'll have the girls come over so you don't get lonely, okay?"
Veronica nodded slowly, bringing her head up to look at him before mumbling a quiet "Promise you'll come back."
"Oh, baby, of course i'll come back. What makes you think I won't?"
"Nothing, just marking sure." She carefully pushed him down onto the bed, cuddling into him.
He chuckled a little, before cuddling back into her. After about five minutes Fangs heard quite snores coming from her mouth. He carefully slid out from under her, walking into the kitchen to write a note. After the note was finished, he set it down on the nightstand so she would she when she gets up.
Planting a soft kiss on her forehead whispering an "I love you", he started walking out the bedroom, but before he was all the way out he heard a faint "I love you too" making him smile
