"159CM"

by TENNY

--

When someone says "let's focus on the music instead of the MV instead!" People take it usually in the wrong way. In this especially because it involves a lesbian couple.

And to which I would argue that it makes sense due to the diffferent subject matter between the song and music video.

<Cut>

Tenny states the girl of interest's facial qualities and likening it too Hya Yeon Soo. An actress appearing in multiple dramas and television shows. The consumate it-girl.

Tenny then picks arguably the two most sought after facial features too with Eyes and Lips. To reassure the woman that she is beautiful.

Then compliments her fashion taste. She isn't worried all too much about fancy bags or clothes. Tenny likes that quality.

The switch up of instrumental leads to Tenny using the speaker phone effect on his voice. Initially I thought it was a feature.

That ends in a fantastic note, contrasting hot and cold with freezing strangers to Tenny melting from her beauty. The 2nd verse comes back to his regular voice being more up front with his feelings.

<"You gotta know you're already high class, girl">

The song has amazing notes, adlibs, violin in the beat, ending guitar, layering vocals, the referenced changes through the phone and falsetto bits throughout. I do enjoy the song itself. A lot.

(No disrespect to the LGBT couple displayed in the MV, they were fantastic actresses too.)

I also know a beautiful girl that also is 159cm myself.
