"Gotta keep moving," I mumbled to myself as I made my way through the thick forest that was located inside of the large training arena. I knew I was being watched, so all I could do is keep going forward. The trees were filled with birds and the wind blew the branches as well as my glossy black hair behind me. I had it tied into a ponytail, but some strands still fell into my eyes. Then, I heard the growls of a hound and I knew that it was time to put my training to the test.

"Silver Staff!" I called out as I held out my right hand. As soon as the words left my lips, a long silver staff appeared in my outstretched hand. It had a small pointed fiery red crystal at the top of it. I then concentrated on the magic flowing through me as I silently stood there in the middle of the woods. The footsteps of the hound got louder as I stayed still. The beast seemed to be stalking me.

"Ha," I thought to myself before adding inside my head. "More like, I'm stalking it." I knew that it was waiting to attack me, but I had my staff and my training. So, I was sure I could handle this single hound. Then, the footsteps stopped and I could practically feel it lunge at me from behind. I swiftly turned around and shot a magic beam at it. The beam struck it in the face and caused it to tumble onto the ground. Sadly, that blast wasn't enough to kill the beast. I twirled my staff and a scythe blade popped out of the top of the staff by the red crystal. I then lunged at the hound, swiping my scythe at it as I tried to land a hit on it.

Finally, the hound stumbled and I was able to stab it in it's chest and it hit directly inside it's heart. More footsteps could be heard pounding on the forest floor and I had a feeling I wouldn't be able to take them on all by myself. I lifted up my black smart watch and pressed a small button on it. I waited for it to beep before I spoke into it.

"Calista, Vienna, Sierra, and Azalea. I need some backup!" I called through the watch and only had to wait a few moments before getting a response from Vienna

"On my way Illia!" I heard her voice ring through the speaker. As the pounding footsteps became louder, I retracted my scythe blade and hoisted myself into the trees in hopes that I could hide until my backup arrived to help. Even though Vienna responded quickly, the other three haven't spoken back to me at all. And that worried me deeply. The hounds appeared in the foliage below the tree branch I was sitting on and I could hear them growling as they no no doubt had my scent and were trying to find my location.

All of a sudden,a round of loud gunfire sounded throughout the forest and I knew that Vienna and Sierra had entered the area and were attempting to shoot the hounds dead. Peering through the tree branches next to and across from me, I saw the fiery red and electric yellow colored hair of twin sisters, Sierra and Vienna. The hounds were shooting their heads around as the magically charged bullets flew through the air. I jumped down as sliced a few hounds to death as the twins took out another bunch. After a while, the forest floor was soaked with the hounds blood as their dead bodies laid there. Vienna was the first of the twins to jump down from their perches in tbe tree branches. Vienna landed right next to the body of one the hounds and her boots became stained with it's blood. Sierra followed soon after her and she had less of a mess on her boots due to the lack of dead hound bodies in her area.

We all looked around at the carnage before we heard the bell go off, signaling that we were done with our test. Together, we made our way through the trees back towards the entrance to the arena. Each of us hoping that we got a good score. Our bodies were scraped, bloodied, and bruised as we entered the hallway that led out of the arena. Standing in front of the trainer, she had a hard, cold look on her face that worried us.

"You three did very well on your testbtoday," she started to say, Vienna, Sierra, and I looked at each other excitedly before we realized that Calista and Azalea were still missing and fear welled up in my body long before the trainer spoke her next sentence.

"However, there were some casualties on our side."
