"We're going to hell." Troye stated.
"Look, I'm sorry I got you into this mess but I didn't know what to say!"
"I don't care!" He exclaimed back. "I can't believe you would do this to your best friend, and drag me with you."
"Look, just take her on a date and if nothing's there then you can just not continue! Some people seem all flirty and totally into each other but just don't... 'click'. You guys can be those people."
"There's nothing you haven't already said, I already told you I'd do it."
"Then why are you so upset with me?" I asked angrily.
"Because you're not who I thought you were."
That comment left me gobsmacked, jaw-dropped, eyes wide open.
"I-I'm sorry to disappoint you." I whispered in sadness, walking away, into my room.
"J-jame- I didn't mean it."
"How could I be so stupid?" I asked myself in disgust.
*
"Hello?" I said into my phone.
"Jamie?! Greatest news!" Marissa screamed into the phone.
"What happened?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
"Troye asked me out! I ran into him at the cafe and we were just talking and then he asked me out! We're having dinner tonight!" She squealed excitably.
"That's great, Marissa!"
"I can't wait! Come over, I need help to decide what to wear!"
*
I was in the living room sat on the couch, legs up and snug in a blanket, reading a book when Troye walked in the door, home from his date with Marissa.
"How'd it go?" I asked.
"Pretty good actually." He said vaguely, a smile creeping onto his face.
"Really? What happened?" I asked, sitting up eagerly.
"We just.. Talked and stuff." He said, again, quite vaguely.
"And stuff?" I questioned.
"Yeah."
"You banged her, didn't you?" I asked blandly and with a hint of disgust.
"No! You freak, it's been one date."
"That's never stopped her.." I mumbled. "I don't understand, why are you so happy then? You either just had sex or got high."
"It's neither, you idiot. I just had a lot more fun than I thought I would. Marissa's really fun to be around, and she's not just some dumb blonde type of girl, she's smart."
I rolled my eyes and returned to my book. "Don't fall in love too quickly now." I said sarcastically.
"Ha. Ha." He sneered. "I'm going to bed."
*
The next morning, I decided to text Marissa about the date.
Heard the date went well!
- Jamie
Yeah! It was great! We're grabbing coffee this morning! :D- Marissa
Wait, when??
- Jamie
I heard a knock on the door. I got up off my chair and away from my Fruit Loops and bowl of fruit to answer the door.
"Now!" Marissa laughed.
"You're awfully perky for a 'not a morning person' girl at 8 in the morning." I grumbled, also not being much of a morning person.
"You'd be this happy if you went on the best date ever last night and were grabbing coffee with the guy again now." She smirked as she walked into the room an I shut the door behind her.
"It was the best date?" I asked, unconvinced. "Better than Danny Simmons last year?" I reminded, sitting back down to the counter and continuing my breakfast.
She looked up and into the corners as she remembered the date. "But that was meaningless. We were just using each other for the benefits." She smirked. "This is the real deal, Jamie."
"Th-the real deal?" I asked.
"Yep." She said excitably, jumping onto the counter.
"I eat on this table, Marissa, get your butt off." I shoved her and she landed on her feet, taking a seat across from me. She placed her elbows on the counter table and placed her cheeks between her hands.
"I'm telling you, Jame, he's more than just someone I want to sleep with, I don't want to scare him off, but I can really see this going somewhere." She smiled at me.
I squirmed in my seat, feeling guilt form head to toe, thinking that the only reason this is happening is that I forced Troye into this.
"That's great, Marissa." I smiled back.
We heard a yawn interrupt the conversation. "Morning, Jamie." Troye said through his yawn, stretching his body as he walked into the kitchen and joined us.
"Morning, Troye." I replied, not bothering to look up as I ate.
"Morning." He smirked at Marissa as he walked passed her and took one of my berries from my bowl.
"Hey, You." She smiled back shyly and flirtatiously.
"I just need to take a shower and we can go." He smiled.
"Sure thing." She smiled back. "Of course your late." She teased.
"Well you're early, 8 isn't 8:30." He retorted as he left for the bathroom.
I rolled my eyes once he was out of range. "You are so smitten."
"What of it?" She replied with a raised eyebrow and shrugged shoulders. "Don't hate just because you and Isaac aren't in that phase anymore."
"Ouch." I said as I exaggerated clutching my heart with both hands. "You are so into him that it makes me sick."
"W-was I too obvious?" She questioned.
"Relax, he was definitely into it." I reassured.
"Y-you think?" She asked with a smile. "I think he likes me, Jame, I really do."
I smiled, not having a reply.
"You'd tell me if he liked someone else, right, Jamie? Like the hick-girl?" She asked.
"O-of course, I'm your best friend." I smiled nervously.
A crappy one though.
A/N: Welcome back to another chapter of Let it Out! I hope you guys enjoyed it! I tried to create as much suspense and drama in this chapter but you always need those chapters that set up the story and its drama! Trust me when I say, there is plenty of drama to come! And I'm on holidays for the next two weeks so there should be at least another 2 or 3 chapters to come in that time :DDDD
You know I love you guys and your comments and votes, so keep 'em coming!
