Chapter 5 (Part 2)

Storm's POV
I look between the 3 vampires in surprise masked by rage. Scarlett does the same thing as me but we both know the other person's masking their surprise with a second emotion. No one else seems to see it, though. Not even Mev and Mitch. What a shocker!

"What are you doing here?" Damn. Mario sounds mad at them. Then I remember that we're at war with them.

"We just wanted to say hello!" What?
"That's not an answer." "Wait. Where's Gerald?!" I hear both Xylo's statement and Mev's question ring out across the village. Wait, who's Gerald?!?!

"Who's Gerald?" Xylo voices my unspoken question. Thanks, Moon Goddess.

"Oh, they don't know- Don't play coy with me, werewolves! I know you took him!"

"So what if we did? I ate him!" Xylo lied.

"You ate Gerald?"

"No! It was him." He. Blamed. Bryan?!?!

"What? Who's Gerald?! What are you doing here, vampires?!?!" I feel my heart pounding in my chest. I start to hyperventilate and Xylo and Mario both look over at me. So do Mev and Mitch. Both Mario and Mitch look at me in a caring manner and Xylo and Mev look at me knowingly. I know Xylo knows that I'm half vampire half werewolf, but why is Mev looking at me the exact same way as Xylo?!?! Also, since when does Mitch look at a werewolf the way he's looking at me right now?!?!

"You OK?" I hear Bryan ask, but Xylo answers for me.

"Storm's OK, Bryan." Thanks, Xylo.

"We just wanted to meet the people who destroyed or whole food supply. I just wanted to meet the people who murdered my-"

"Our." Scarlett chimed in.

"Our brother. Is that better, Scarlett? I just wanted to see your faces." Mev finished.

"You've seen them. Now leave before we kill you." Mario states.

"Wait, we're lettin' em leave?" Dangit, Xylo!

"What if we don't wanna leave?" You're making this harder then it should be, Mev!

"There'll be consequences then." Bryan giggles.

"I imagine there'll be consequences whether they do or don't wanna leave. They're vampires!" XYLO I SWEAR TO THE MOON GODDESS I'M GOING TO-
"Swear you're gonna what?" What?

"I said that out loud, didn't I?" Everyone nods.

"Dang it! Also, I'm gonna kill you, Xylo! We're trying to be nice here!" I say as I give Xylo 'the look'. He cowered in fear, clearly regretting not playing nice.

"I'm sorry, Storm!"

"I forgive you." For now. Xylo backs off and everyone else laughs.

"Why do I keep saying that out loud?!?!" Everyone shrugs. Bryan starts moving towards Mev, growling at him.

"Hey, you're getting too close. Back up!" Mev brings out wolfsbane, and even though I'm not affected by it, I back off as well as everyone else in Pack Haven.

"What does he have? It's wolfsbane!" I take a step forward, garlic in hand, and the vampires all back off.

"Is that garlic?" I nod once. Then I smell smoke. I drop the garlic and turn around really quickly.

"Storm? You okay?" Mario asks.

"You might wanna take a look behind you, Mario!" He does so and only has one thing to scream.

"My home's on fire!"  I turn around and go to pick up the garlic, taking a step forward, and jumping back seconds later with pain shooting through my hands and foot.

"What the heck...?" I mumble, not loud enough to draw anyone's attention. "I've never been affected by garlic or wolfsbane before." I hear footsteps in front of me and look up to see Mitch holding a hand out to me, a hand that I gladly take and get back to my feet.

"Storm?! Are you okay?!" I hear rapid footsteps behind me as I hear Bryan's voice.

"Yeah, Bryan. I'm fine. Just stepped in some wolfsbane." I half-lie.

That's good! I'm glad you're okay!" I smile.

"Me, too, Bryan. Now go help Alpha put out the fire." Bryan accuses the vampires for a few seconds but then goes back to putting out the fire. I turn and look at Mev. My eyes must have turned red because Mev looked at me and covered them, apparently trying to hide my eyes. I go to ask him a question but it's cut short when I hear someone calling my name. I blackout and wake up in Mythspire. Why Mythspire, you ask? Because Mev brought me here. Why? I don't have a clue. I'm sitting in my tower that I built in his castle. I guess he's always known about me. But how?

While I wait for someone to walk in, I have a vision.

Vision:

Xylo: So you did try to burn down Pack Haven!

Devil: Where did you get that idea? I mean you're correct. But I never alluded to that being the case.

End of Vision:

I hear the door open and see Mev enter the room.

"Hey. Sorry about that whole... fiasco back at Pack Haven. But I couldn't let anyone else find out the truth! Yes, I've known since I met you. It was easy to tell. If Mitch or Scarlett found out, they would have killed you on the spot. So when your eyes turned red, I knew I had to hide your eyes. But you passed out, so I had to bring you back in case your eyes were still red when you woke up. Which they are, by the way." OK, what? "So, does anyone else know? Or is this our little secret?" I need to tell him about Xylo.

"Yes. My werewolf friend, Xylo, knows. It has to stay between the 3 of us, though! My brother, the Alpha, would kill me if he knew! Literally! But Xylo can't find out that you know. Not yet. So keep it between us for now?" He sighs.

"OK. I'll go make something up to Mitch and Scarlett about it but until your eyes go back to normal, or I feel like letting you go, you can't leave. OK?" I nod, knowing that it's for my own good. Although, I got scared when he said "or I feel like letting you go." Am I technically a prisoner? I guess so. Until it's safe for me to leave, I can't go outside Mythspire.

"I understand." He leaves, locking the door behind him. I can't leave.

I can't leave, and it's all my damn fault.
