Kaelie thinks we have to race Pythonia to her daughter. I have a slightly different idea.

"What if we work together?"

"What do you mean?"

"What if we help Pythonia find her daughter? But we wouldn't do it for free. She would have to not kill us while we were finding her daughter, and she would have to let us ask her daughter to fix my mistake."

"Like that's going to go over well."

I sigh. The human just doesn't get it. "Listen. We both know Pythonia could kill us both before we even realized what she was doing--"

I am unfortunately cut off by a rather annoyed author. "Valid point. But unfortunately for your idea, it just proves why we should stay as far away from her as possible."

I now want to slap myself in the face. Unfortunately, that would hurt, due to my claws. Maybe I could use my tail? I doubt it. That thing is neither long enough nor flexible enough to do so.

"You just don't get it. If we try to race her and steal away her child again, we will be her enemies and she will chase us to the ends of the earth to kill us." I pause for a second to give Kaelie a moment to process this. (Totally not so I can take a second to recharge.) "But," I start up again just as she takes another breath to start talking again. "If she works with us, we will have her protection against any other enemies around, not to mention her daughter is a bit more likely to agree to assist us."

This takes Kaelie a full 3.5 seconds to process before she finally starts speaking again. And in her head this time. I'm so glad she picked up on that... I was beginning to think that our conversation would be overheard.

"Most of what you said doesn't really make too much sense to me, But if you say it's less likely to end us up dead, we can try it your way."

"Fine then. Now I can't really take control, as I am still throwing my body, so please do exactly as I say."

To my surprise, she nods.

"Okay. Now, If I know Pythonia at all, she will be on top of the cliff looking for somewhere to dispose of the body of Kardmis. So here's what you do..."

She followed my instructions to the letter, first flying up to the top of the cliff, she walked towards Pythonia and stopped about 5 feet away from Kardmis's corpse. "Do you need any help with that?"

"Not really." Pythonia speaks as she is dragging the body towards a cave.

"Follow her."

This definitely caught Pythonia's attention. She dropped the body and whirled around, knife suddenly in her hand. "What do you want?"

Kaelie froze

"To help you find your daughter. Say it quickly."

"To help you find your daughter."

The knife falls from her hand. "What do you know of her?"

I quickly give Kaelie another command. "You explain."

She slightly nods. "We were fighting Kardmis before you arrived. We had been looking for 'the halfblood' for a couple of days, and had gone to check for clues in the ruins of mount Everfog. Unfortunately, Kardmis was there, and I accidentally managed to offend him. So we ended up fighting him--"

She cut Kaelie off. "We? I only see one of you. Where are the others?"

She waits for my command. "Answer her.. and do so honestly."

"He's resting inside my head right now. His body got completely destroyed and he almost died when Kardmis tricked him into passing over the border to the spirit realm."

She nods. "I see. And who exactly is he?"

She doesn't even wait. "The dragon Spectrum of the island camp."

"I've heard of him." Her fingers lightly tap her forehead. "Now you said you were looking for my daughter. Why exactly?"

Kaelie blushes a little. "It's a long story, but to give you the quick version, I messed this world up, and only your daughter can fix it."

Pythonia turns back to the corpse, picking up its feet. "Well, it would be nice to have some company, so I guess you can come along. But, I have two requirements of you two. One is that as soon as he is well, Spectrum shall take up the duty of hunting for the party. And the other is, I'd like to hear this long story of yours. You will tell it as we go find Rosalyn."

"That doesn't sound too bad. I agree."

Kaelie nods again. "When do we leave?"

Pythonia disappears into the cave. "Just give me a minute."
