One month later:
Just a tip. Always carry a flashlight when coming home in the dark. Otherwise, you might trip over a box which you never knew was there.
Once I got back on my feet and brought the box inside, I decided to Investigate it. There was no return address, no delivery address, and most concerningly, no postage. Needless to say, this box thad not been sent through the postal service, and was quite suspicious and most possibly dangerous. Not to mention that the rough surface and extreme weight of the package led me to believe that the packaging was not cardboard, but was built entirely of wood.
I was about to just lug the box into my car and take it down to the police station when a letter suddenly appeared on top of the package. I recognized the seal on it; a stag's head with two crossed lightning bolts behind it and surrounded by a circle. This crest gave me the idea that the letter and package were not to be ignored, nor were they to be handed in to the authorities.
The letter was written in a fine cursive, but the author thereof definitely did not seem to know spelling or grammar.
To Kaelie.
My hope that this finds u wel. The wold has so increase good you left since. Me and Melody togthr again, and Dawn lives well with the crownship of Mardil and Rosalyn, who soon to become husband and wife soon.
All of Mardil, Rosalyn, me, and Melody agre give you gifts. Package in gifts. Me is sad if letter hard to read. Conevrsion between tongues by magical means can be strange.
SpectrumAfter decoding the letter, I pry open the box, only to be knocked over by a silvery blur before I could look inside.
"Yay! Mommy!!!" A three foot long dragon stood on my chest, tiny wings furling and unfurling, sniffing me all over. "Mommy smells of food. I want food."
I can't help but sigh as I roll onto my side and get up, the dragon falling off as I do so. What did I just get myself into? After emptying the contents of five packages of beef jerky in front of the creature, I stick my hand into the box again to feel around for anything else. The letter had said 'gifts' after all. But no sooner had I done so than the box exploded in a flash of light as I felt a once again familiar stick of wood in my hand. "The moonstaff?" Sighing, I stick it in the corner next to the door before hefting my now sleeping pet I guess onto a now unretired dog bed. Looks like my life just got strange again.
