Poseidon's Pov

Looking down on the mortals I couldn’t help but remember the meeting from earlier in the day when we had decided to announce our presence to the world.

“We must act now!” argued Zeus the council meeting had only started ten minutes ago and we were already arguing amongst ourselves about the proper course of action to take to make sure that our worn out children don’t have to fight against the mortals in another war.

“I agree that we must act but we need to be careful that we don’t worsen the situation by revealing ourselves.” countered Athena trying to make Zeus see here point of view.

“How can we make this situation any worse the mortals are seeing through the mist and if we possibly wait any longer then they will start to hunt down our children.” Boomed Zeus, angry at his daughter’s refusal to see his side in the plan, his temper was not eased by the fact that at the moment there was little that anyone could do to help because of the ancient laws that forbade them to intervene in mortal combat.

Sighing I put my head out on the line and said “What if we performed a mixture of the two plans yes we reveal ourselves but we also put in place the demigods to protect the mortals if Athena’s theory does in fact prove to be correct.”

Looking up at all the shocked faces that stared at me I couldn’t help but say “What!” as everyone tried to hide their amazement.

“You just said something smart” gasped Athena making me silently laugh at the implications of what she was saying.

“Okay then meeting dismissed everyone you know what to do let us all prepare for this carefully we want no mistakes.” finished Zeus as he signed of the meeting.

Hearing the strangled cries of a distraught mother I focused in too the apartment of my lover as she wept at the prospect of letting go our son again.

The strong felling of guilt overwhelmed me as I realised how we were tearing apart the demigod’s families and how we proceeded to do it over and over again without a thought in the world for the people that have had to look after and bear our children.

Thinking of all the things that I could possibly do to make up for it I finally decided on the highest honour that I could give a son of mine who cares what Amphitrite thinks, Percy deserves it.
