A week and a half later
Since William's death Louis hasn't spoken much to anyone other than Kathryn, not even Zayn or Harry. Harry wished he could do more to comfort him but knew he needed time.
Today was the day of the funeral and that also meant it was officially time for Louis to take over Sonlinmot as boss. All the surrounding gangs and even mafias from far across the country were flying into today. They were all blood thirsty sharks and Louis was practically swimming alone.
So to say he was nervous was an understatement. But he was ready to say goodbye to his uncle one last time. He had work to do and he didn't want to disappoint. He cried so much he could cry no more and he knew mopping around for the rest of his days wouldn't be beneficial to anyone. He was going to make his uncle proud and carry him in his heart the rest of his life.
Everyone silently loaded into the large limousine dressed in expensive black suits and dresses. Louis quickly found Harry and slid in next to him, gently holding his hand. He didn't quite know what him and Harry were but he did know he liked him, a lot, and he really need that extra comfort from him right now.
Louis hung his head as he stepped out of the car once they finally arrived to the church. He saw the bright and elaborate flower arrangements that were scattered all around. Everyone was talking and laughing and drinking; none of them really cared about William.
All around him Louis heard mutters of 'my condolences' and 'I'm so sorry for your loss' and 'William was a great man'. Louis was ready to explode, none of them really meant it.
Louis was pulled out of his thoughts by Harry tugging on his hand.
"Why are there so many big flowers Lou?" he asked quietly. Louis looked around and took in the arrangements brought by the mobsters, there must have been at least 100.
"To pretend like they care," Louis responded coldly as he squeezed Harry's hand a little tighter.
The service went by in a blur and Louis didn't even really remember what he said. He just remembers saying something about his uncle and then someone cheering about Louis being the new boss. And then it was all over and everyone was gone, leaving Louis and close members alone to truly grieve.
And soon enough, they too left. Louis was once again silent the entire car ride home. Already mentally blocking himself off from everyone around him and preparing to call a meeting as soon as they arrived home. Harry sat beside him, just as silent, but praying he didn't shut him out too.

The meeting between the administration and Louis was now in full swing only an hour after the funeral. Louis felt like he had no time to take a breath, no time to grieve but that's mob life.
Louis now stood tall at the head of the table, his first official meeting as boss.
"Attention everyone! Attention! I know this is a hard time for a lot of us, but we cannot let this be used as a weakness against us, this is no time to lay down!" Louis said bringing all eyes and ears to him. "Now, my first order of business, Zayn will take the role of consigliere since my uncle didn't have one and Liam will be taking over my role as underboss."
A chorus of loud cheers and shouts were heard from the group (but the loudest one was Niall) as Zayn and Liam were congratulated and patted on the back.
"Now that that is done, let's discuss future hits and jobs..." Louis said, diving straight in.
The meeting was finally finished after a good three hours in Louis' new office crowded around the long table. Capos ran numbers with him and went over all the hits they had to perform in the next month and the jobs they would have to carry out by the end of the week. It was fairly easy and ran extremely smooth, considering the fact that Louis was basically already the boss of Sonlinmot months ago.
As soon as all the capos left the meeting room, Louis slumped back in his big new leather chair and propped his feet up. Zayn, Liam, and Niall casually lounged around the office as well.
"Uggggh, was it just me or did that feel like the longest meeting ever?" Louis asked no one in particular.
"Maybe it's cause you're missing your lover boy," Niall snickered, earning a glare from Louis who stayed silent.
"You know Louis, speaking of him," Zayn said timidly. He knew Louis was already stressed and sad, and now Zayn had to dump two things of bad news on him? This wouldn't go well.
"What is it Zayn?" Louis said now sitting at full attention due to the further mention of Harry.
"This is probably a bad time and all but there were lots of whispers today. At the funeral, at the meeting."
"About what?"
"That you're not emotionally stable or focused enough to be boss. Some people are saying that you're no longer the same 'Louis "Trigger" Tomlinson'. They think Harry has made you soft," Zayn said looking at the ground.
"BULLSHIT," Louis shouted. "Give me the names of these people, I'll show them just how soft I've gone," Louis said practically fuming.
"Of course I'll give you the names Louis, already have them written out here," Zayn said sliding a piece of paper across the table."But that's not the only bad news Lou."
"Well could it get any worse than some of my own men thinking I'm incapable of leading?" Louis asked dramatically.
"Possibly," Zayn said as he slid an envelope across the table. "Another letter came today. I found it on the windshield of the car after the funeral."
A small mutter of 'oh shit' was heard from Liam and a 'open it, open it' from Niall. Louis cautiously grabbed it and ripped open the envelope.
My dear Louis,
You see, for all life is an act of faith and an act of gamble.
Remember that line? Can you figure out who I am?
It's quite accurate, considering your recent loss, which my condolences.
But that's not what I am here to say,
Be ready Tomlinson.
Keep your eyes wide open.

Any guesses on who the person behind the letter might be??? Any guesses on what might be happening next??
